was looking at a VR mk3, they sound insane but seen a couple recently and even at full tilt they dont look overly fast. I'm uncertain if jap is the way forward tbh, never owned owt jap before (or owt quick for that matter) and you cant get more bhp for your buck with some of the motors out there.

Get a mk3 gti 16v. Or a mk2 16V

The only reason the VR is better is the noise, but it's alot heavier and less pleasant to drive, that's according to one of the many GTI v VR6 threads I've seen on edition.

Yep and it's as much about meeting other people than seeing each others cars!

We could always convoy though to, as you say, Colton, although that tends to be full of the Leeds Cruize people.

i have an r reg 6n2 with mk4 golf 1.9tdi egine swap.

just been driving back from my birds in huddersfield and as i was coming up fartown hill a sort of rattling noise started when i accelerated, but i couldnt get a clear listen to it cos about 10 seconds after it starting there was a big noise that sounded a bit like a whirly dump valve (i know thats not the right name for it but i hope you know what i mean!)

its something to do with the turbo cos now its driving with no boost, theres no dump valve etc. not sure what it is though, literally just got back and its too dark and too late to have a proper look but i've had a little look about and cant see anything untowards. so any help at all for when i get back from work tomorrow would be a great help!

sounds like your turbos gone mate, car will still be drivable but not recomended as will mess up all your internals and what not

Cant wait to see the corsa's, seen one with some 19's last night, gonna try get some 20's on mine after some archwork..
