Hi guys I'm after a very good set of speakers, possibly with something that has a nice base to it as well. as I'm frequently using my boot nowadays for work i had to take out the sub. would anyone recommend something? I'm not sure what to look at as iv had a mids and tweeters in there already but mids don't give out much bass. I take it running them on an amp would be good, but i running them on head-unit and would like to continue running my next speakers on the head-unit, would be better for me. any suggestions?

You could get one of them slim line subs n fit it under seats, I know u said run the door speakers off the head unit but if u want more power and don't want bigger speakers your best bet it probably to amp them, but you amp could be mounted anywhere! Under the seat would be easy! Or a canny one is at the passenger side footwell against the bulkhead, under the carpet!

I'm running JL comps on my 6n2, its amped and the bass is more than enough for me, but i now have a tiny sub in the boot for that little punch

Thumbs up for the JLs I have C5s in my golf and yeah you could get away with out a sub if you put a small amp on them

i have focal k2 powers in my mk5 gti, produces sound I've never heard before !

Look on the makers website for new models and then when u found some u like do a google search and find the cheapest there.

Starsound's are superb if you can find somewhere that sells them..

Why coaxial ?

Surely it's better if the tweeter is seperate and pointing right at your ears rather than your trousers?

I was thinking something like a Cerwin Vega 65cs or Canton rs16.2.

If it must be coaxial I like Infinity Reference and MB Quart Discus.

Bit cheaper: Kenwood KFC1761s look to have high sensitivity, decent response range.

Thinking about these to replace the OEM Blaupunkt bass/midrange in a Skoda door (not been the same since driven 300 miles with a bust exhaust pipe just after the cat).

They're coaxial 17cm units and quite deep, but you can either angle the tweeter away from your trousers and towards your ears,

or remove it and mount it seperately.

Delivery includes crossovers (possibly high pass filters) for later seperate amp of the woofer/midrange unit

had a change in mind I'm going to go for components set as i have them already and are clear sound, i have a jbl set already but they are on there way out and are making cracling noises. any one recomend anything? price range about £100-£130. 6.5in?
