Insurance ! help me out

Featured Replies

I got 3 points after driving for 11months, I then got 3 points after driving for 3 years, I now have 6 points. I declare everything, from where the car is kept (really kept, not just to make insurance less) in total, it adds up to about 30% more expensive than hiding away the points etc... I mean, seriously, why the f**k would you bother to pay for insurance on a car, and hide the fact you have points or that it is highly modified, if you crash into somebody (quite likely when you run red lights and don't give a shit about other road users) and cause a serious accident or even death, you will be held with charges of manslaughter or even attempted manslaughter (willingly using a vehicle which is uninsured - like giving somebody a gun who doesn't have a license, just an accident waiting to happen).

I know people who have had this happen to them, and the outcome thus far for my mate (he was driving without proper insurance) has been 3 years of counselling, he has been in and out of court for countless charges (after he killed somebody) and he was VERY lucky in his outcome, as the modifications to his car did not affect the drivers ability or visibility.

I hope you listen to Rich, as I stand from the same point of view as him, everything he has said is correct and in no way false. Anybody here who encouraged somebody to insure a car under false pretences should seriously reconsider their mental state and possibly the vehicle they are driving. If you CANT afford to insure it, YOU CANT INSURE IT, YOU CANT DRIVE IT, wait a few months until you can. that way, when you knock somebody down and kill them you wont be liable for hundreds of thousands of pounds in compensation and with any luck you will avoid jail time.

how about not exactly telling them what you do as a job? does that still invalidate insurance?

That last half is complete spin. Attempted manslaughter..? Okaay..

And are you seriously suggesting that someone who's uninsured is more likely to kill people? What garbage.

So everyone who is insured then drives like a vicar, and thinks like a doctor? Carry on sweeping everyone with the same brush mate, just because a murderer jumps a taxi doesnt mean that a kid who jumps a taxi is also a murderer.

Most people running without insurance do so only for a short time, and only for financial reasons. Many who pay for insurance, but aren't insured,do so unknowingly - this happened to me when my details had been put in wrong.

But they'll still be dead, family destroyed, and no insurance can do a thing about that. Being insured does not mean you can take less responsibility,in the belief that things wont be so bad in the event of a fatal crash.

Insured or not, you'll still be in counciling if you kill someone - and the last thing you need is cocky complacency because you're insured.

However,I'm with you 100% on your push for driving only with insurance (not because its law,I've lost alot of faith in our law system).

But because at least if you injure someone, they will be given the financial assistance they need to get by and continue raising their kids. Also, you wont owe a £100,000 grand bill for a compensation payout for someone's broken spine - where your life would be hell for so long, you'd never get back on track had you not been insured.

But please, the courts/people are not gonna judge you for being as bad as a murderer if you drive without insurance - that's just bollocks. They'll just know you're a bloody idiot.

i thought it was 6 points in your first year you get a ban, then its just normal? 12 points.. i duno aha

no it's 6 points in your first 2 years not 1 year

About 3 months ago i got pulled doing 90 in a 50 on my rs125 got 3 points and a £60 fine which i aint arguing with because i was well over the limit. I then pass like a month later and have a years no claims on a motorbike and 3points. I'm with tesco value insurance , its only 3rd party only but they accept a years no claims on a motorbike , thats the only company out there that will... I'm paying £1100 on a 1.3cl with 3points a years no claims and I've held a licence for what? 3weeks lol

Good luck mate

You have insurance so you are clean when police pull you over, it's then your choice whether you are comfortable not being totally truthful and you not being covered technically. Shame what happened but you can't tell people not to do it.
