That was only because you turned up looking like you'd crashed through Matalan and ended up in JJB.

Also, considering it was your group that pinched some of our stuff on saturday night, we got you down to a tee on your mindset and behaviour. Given those facts, can you blame us for watching you while you walked through our camp site behind our tents?

Have respect for people, property and rules and you might just find that you're actually welcomed.

EXCUSE ME ???!!!!!!!! who are u calling a theef , and since wen did jjb start selling jeans n a jumper , u want to get you are facts strait before making acusations or things wont go so smooth next show

This forum is great, people get so mad, an entertaining read to say the least!

And this is a good example of why this place has gone downhill.

Think some people need to chill.

Not really Jon - the few that caused issues were only around 1% of the Polo Show attendees. If you'd have come along you'd have seen that most people got along together and had a great time! :)

Agreed...It was only a couple of bawbags that caused all of the trouble.

For everyone else it was like a big Club Polo pyjama party...with booze.

I think it sucks that everyones more focused on the negatives, some dicks played some loud music, and a tax disk and dust caps got robbed.

Otherwise it was a great weekend and thats what we should remember.

Peace & Love.

Chris.

i wasnt even at the show and this has made me laugh...

would love to see how some of you cope at biggers shows, modified nationals ect... u dont get any sleep because of the music, but its all part of the fun!

i found smithy rather attractive

that alone will make me go again next year.

Just had a skim read of this...now, I didn't go to polo show due to work and haven't attended one yet considering i've only been driving just over a year. However, I have been to other VW shows and reading the goings on at the polo show, I feel the need to ask when did the VW scene turn into the chav scene?

To be honest, I've seen better behaviour from so called "chavs" in saxo's than what I've heard going on here. Even at Modified Nationals there was not one bit of trouble and everyone got on fine.

Very well done to the guy for owning up and apologizing, however, I think the VW scene needs to be re-appreciated and after I was happy reading the fact that he apologized for the loud music...I then continue to read that his mates were shouting racist abuse, throwing harsh words around the place like no mans business and taking the "bad man" approach and attempting to start something back on a like-minded chav.

I want the old VW scene back personally.

Like Andy pointed out above, it was some miniscule amount like 1% that acted like chavs/dicks/wankers whatever you want to name them.

If you were there then you may have some differing thoughts...

I didnt want to come due to obvious reasons (and the fact i'm not too well currently :-()

Oh, don't get me wrong, i'm not denying the fact that 99% of the club polo members would have been well behaved etc and I probably would be differing in my views slightly if I had attended. But to hear goings on like this from a VW event when I rate VW shows so highly to my friends who own other make cars and explaining how they are so different and chilled out and everyone is friendly...this begins to mark a slight change in the scene...which needs to be met appropriately with expressed views and thoughts to not lose the amazing atmosphere we once, and still have at VW related shows.

Just my 2 pence.

some one got there tooth knocked out?

by the sounds of it a few FFOC signs being 'liberated' was lame in comparison to this years show and that was enough to get us banned from the site last time. i couldn't make this show due to family commitments but as a lover of sleep i'm glad i missed it tbh.

its all well and good saying that it was only a small percentage of people messing it up this year, but even a small percentage can put a lot of people off going to a show. why would people choose to go to a show when they have read stuff like this about the previous years show? the last time we were at billing there may of been a bit of 'over excitement' going on with some signs taken and paraded around on some cars and one respected member may of gotten a bit over exited in some one else's car but there was no trouble what so ever, just like minded people wondering around drinking/smoking/what ever and chatting shit and having a good laugh. every one got on great and the only fuck up was the drug dealing norther who set himself on fire and wasn't even there for the show

To be honest though, with popularity comes unwanted attention.

Edition will be the same, I've heard plenty of people that aren't VW enthusiasts, saying they're going just for a pissup and rave..

It was bound to become a victim of its own success sooner or later..

I'm not really fussed as i'll just buy any cra i like be it a VW, jap, ford etc and just keep my mates and go to whatever show i want..

Bet that was our fire :-p, although i knocked it over once!

Was a quality weekend, really enjoyed it, met loads of cool people...i mustve slept through the music, and my car was unlocked all weekend and never got anything stolen so I've got no complaints at all!!

i get the impression it was ruined by some chav's and their mates in shit cars........................... !

well, i'm glad i didnt go.

maybe next time go usc - less about the cars more about the piss up, usual 8am knob head rev off and if you are being a idiot there's plenty of ambulances on site!

well in fairness there was a tiny amount of trouble in the general scheme of things. Yes some people seemed to just want to ruin the weekend for everyone else but I think on the whole most people enjoyed it, I know I certainly don't regret going. And to be honest, it was a LOT more sedate than edition has been the last couple of years.

I heard the moon was shit, havn't been but surely my opinion is just as valueable as Armstrong's.

I think that this thread has gone on long enough and is starting to wander off the point.

Yes a couple of people caused a bit of hassle but generally everyone had a really good time, perhaps we can focus more on the positives before next years show, those that went this year and caused trouble will hopefully think twice about doing the same next year, and those that want to go to a 'rave' won't bother as they know that they won't be welcome.

I hope that people have read and learnt from this what the Polo show is about, if you don't think that its something you would be interested in because we are all boring please don't bother coming in future, otherwise if you want to meet other like minded people, have a few beers and a laugh while looking at cars and chilling in the sunshine (hopefully) then please come along.

if you didn't go then i don't think its really fair to comment and possibly put off other people from going next year. We all love the site at Billing and are already working on next years show, i hope that everyone can look past the negative and think of how we can improve things for next year.

Liz :-)
