I have no trouble sympathising with them, i have driven like a idiot before. And I probably will again at some point. Its 5 guys but only one was driving. Can you say they all deserved it?

It says they clipped a traffic island, so who knows, they could have been going very fast on a clear road and been thrown off course by misjudging the distance to an obstacle.

There's a thread on VW Vortex, and a local says they were doing 88mph. But, that said, I reckon even in a safe new car like a Mk6 Golf not everyone would survive a crash at 62mph. Even wearing seatbelts.
