Woop 16v turbo :p

the one i was looking at has gone now as well, just saw another one on ed38 but i think that's gone now too, i need my compo cheque to hurry up and come through so i can get some boost

i've finally settled on a colour scheme for it (hopefully i'll stick to thins one lol), gloss black with red bay and detailing, looking at getting the cults refurbed with polished dish and red centers, also thinking about some decals along the sills like on the mk1 golf campaigns but in red.

Plans sound awesome 8-) Shame about the money/boost though :(

The black/red theme just made me think of hotrods - you need a fur interior 8-) :p

Ooooh do bits of gloss/candy white in places too :-D and polished metal

American '50s' style 8-)

You can then go catch a flicker show before hanging out at the diner with a hamburger and chocolate shake :-D

Get some betty boop in on it also - boop oop-a-doop :-D

Id love to mod a car that way, but my kitchen is enough i think

the money issue should be sorted in the next few weeks, then its just a case of sitting around and waiting for the right conversion to pop up (hopefully every one will be selling shit cheap after xmas lol).

its funny you should mention hot rods, the original plan was to go a bit muscle car kinda theme (taking inspiration from t.v shows like wrecks to riches) with stuff like flashy paint, satin black decals and 80's style spoiler, pimp ass wheels, maybe even chrome bumpers if i could find them. no point in having the go without the show though so i'm putting the engine conversion first and simplifying the looks of it now.

this was the kinda look i was hoping for

Muscle car look would be cool 8-)

I'm still thinking black, bits of red, whitewall tyres, chrome bits and loads of fur though ;)

Should be sorted over christmas. Finished machining up the new charger few weeks ago.

Got myself a Duga-Duga-Diesel Gaylander to tow the slag to tracks etc. Not worth having it road legal

little update...

had a bit of usable weather last weekend so put it to good use and took the engine out so i can start tidying up the bay and doing some work on the inner wings. hopefully picking up the hydraulics this weekend, over the next few weekend's i wanna at least make a dent in my list of things to do

these include, finding a 16v conversion and stripping it down and clean/paint/service it, trial fit the hydraulics and see how much cuttings gonna be needed to get it sitting on the floor, weld inner wings and lightly smooth off the bay and get it ready for paint, get stuck in to the welding needed on the front wings and get them ready for paint.

my list is much bigger than that but that's the stuff i wan out the way first

here's a couple of photo's just to make it a slightly less pointless update

did a bit of colour experimentation tonight, still needs a good buff to see how it comes up

it is slightly lighter than that but not a great deal.

hydraulics should be with me next weekend now due to a logistics issue but it'll give me a chance to get some body work done this weekend hopefully. also i should be picking up a 1.6 td conversion for it around the 20th which will be stripped down, spruced up and prepped for some pretty good power 8-)
