mine dont go off with full beam & i have relay 53, ohwellll

Here are the wiring diagrams (upto Sept 97) and as you will see there is NO relays involved

Reading through this, i have the wire in the '13' connector on the headlight switch, haven't checked for relay and anythong else as yet.

few questions tho..

When making yourown wiring loom, I'm guessing it will be two yellow and two brown wires (on colour each per connection)? yellow cables then connected together at the top (in the multiplug) and same with the brown?

also, it says the front and rear work at the same time, how would i get them to work individually of eachother?

Yellow and brown wire from one plug (back of foglight), which then splits off to the two pins which go into the headlight multiplug, also it needs to split off to go down to the other foglight plug.

Alternatively you can buy this http://www.electritech.co.uk/store/45-VW-P...ng-Harness.html

It has a yellow pin to go into the headlight multiplug, however the brown wire has a metal ring attached to it which you bolt to somewhere in the engine bay (we bolted this to my mates alarm bracket).

Seeing as yours is a 1998 model, all you need is the foglights, the loom and the switch. That's it, no relays or anything else.

To do with the front and rear foglights working at the same time, the switch has 2 foglight modes. Pull it out once to turn on the front foglights only. Pull it out again to turn on the front and rear foglights.

thats great, i have got the switch ready (from a seat ibiza) and i have a pair of fogs and a loom on its way to me at present :) I shall let you know how the install goes with some pictures :)

Right guys..

I followed this guide successfully a month or so ago, all working perfect. Some of you may know that I've now got a 6n2 dash in my 6n..

Now, the foglights wont work but i shall explain what I'm thinking..

I have the Front Fog option headlight switch for a 6n2. Following the wiring diagram from the 6n2 Haines, I've worked out that the front fogs come from 'T8' (terminal 8). The cable that comes from T8 is yellow/black just as the 6n fog cable is. However, the standard Yellow/Black cable from the 6n loom goes into T1. If i disconnect T1, the headlights will not turn on.

The haines manual shows the Yellow/Black cable from T8 splitting in two and then going to the fogs on each side, obviously then earthing from the fog..

So what i was wondering is.. (here is where my explanations may get confusing..)..

Taking the old thread (above), the white (or) yellow cable that was placed into the headlight loom connector (behind the main grill area) along with a brown earth. This cable, would i be able to run a single cable from the T8 on the new 6n2 switch, then connect the new and old (yellow or white) cable in a "T". Meaning that the new cable coming from the switch would feed/split power into the two foglight cables. I'm guessing then the brown earthing cables will then be able to remain in the headlight loom connector? Essentially just modifying the 'live' cables for the fogs?

I hope you can understand what i meen by that guyyyys, help would be apreciatted!
