I'd have thought Button would sign back up with Brawn, weren't they on about Hamilton going to Ferrari?

No chance, Ferrari have plenty of potential drivers but Hamilton isn't one of them, he'll stay put. Look at Alonso for a Ferrari drive next year.

I'm sure someone said he could go to Ferrari..

nah hamilton definitely needs (and will!) stay at mclaren. They have a better car now than the brawn currently is. although what either are like next year is another story. And I wouldn't have thought button would want to move from brawn.

They did say something at the end of the race about Button potentially being signed up now from another team unless Brawn can offer big money to keep him.

Can't see anyone wanting button that bad that they'd outbid Brawn for him, he's not exactly shown that he's a massive cut above the rest, the only other driver that had a car to match his at the start of the season (Rubens) has been snapping at his heels the whole time, and lets face it, RB isn't getting any younger/faster. Jensen has only really proven that he's faster than a soon to be past it driver. Not saying he's not a good driver, just saying he's hardly the kind of person to turn another team's fortunes around.

WELL DONE to that man! epic driving, brilliant guy :D

Does anyone else know him from touring cars? none of my mates do! (were all about 20) some of them didnt even beleive that he was!

Anyways was a great race! lots of action :p loved the flaming ferrari!

Smithy, Hamilton ain't going to Ferrari, they're sorted with Massa and Alonso for next year.

Watch out for Vettel next season, he's the rising star.

Oh and well done Button.

The only touring car race of any sort jenson raced in was a 24hr race at spa i think, the car broke before he did a stint. He came straight out of Karting in to formula ford (blits the field)then on to f3 (so so season) and then f1.

Jenson never raced in touring cars..

But yeah - well done to him and Brawn... Sure, he didnt have the pace at some tracks, but didnt fall off the road, wallop anyone, hold anyone up in qually, or do anything stupid - a proper racer.

A team like that coming from nothing to world champions in 11 months with very little testing is damn good. That chassis will never be perfect, it was designed around a different engine and box, so the aero and rear end suffers quite a lot..

Nice bloke as well, met him at the start of his F1 career.

Yeah my bad i realised my mistake this morning when i was thinking about it!

ill start again, lol i remember him from formula 3!

Ill get there one day with my memory!

They didn't come from nothing, they came from HONDA and a years R&D!

They were nothing at the start of the season, thats what I was getting at.

I realise Honda did a huge amount towards this championship but it's still massively commendable that they pulled such a good car together in that sort of time, seeing as they had a big gap inbetween the driver & the rear wheels..

Would love Hamilton and Button to be team-mates.

deadly combo? lol

i have always prefered ferrari....but brawn have really impressed me with the 3 weeks build...and getting a 1 2 finish on their debut race. just goes to show how much the techies matter.....sending button from the middle of the pack (from previous seasons at honda) into a champ contender..

also glad to see massa has made a full recovery. cant wait for him to get back into his ferrari...

Come on people! Please stop overlooking the fact that honda (now renamed Brawn) gave up on last season and put a years work into their 2009 car!!! Loads more time than any other team had to prepare for this season and the massive rule changes that came with it!!! The real acheivement belongs to RedBull...

Fair point but the aerodynamics was what really counted at the start of the season.

i was really supprised with red bull and had completly slipped my mind. i do think that red bull gave a very good season and there will be alot more to come. as you said, they had a great achevement...brawn had alot of experience with the top end teams. would like to see this come from RBR.

also like the fact that most manufacturs are now using the merc engines(which are actually brittish =])
