mk2 / mk3 rear axle

Featured Replies

Had my car MOT and it failed on little thing but the major thing is that one side the suspension cup is rubbing the tyre and only on the one side

the car doesn't drive bad so think it a slight knock.

I also put no suspension thinking it was a bent shock but still the same problem

How wide are the wheels and what drop?

My 13x8 Cults rubbed on one side when first fitted but didnt get any worse so left it. Can you not put some skinny steels on the car just for the MOT?

have you got the shocky the right way round? what size wheels do you have?

they are these wheels 14" standard golf wheels with 185/55

and yeah i thought the shock was on the wrong one round but on correct the stud on the shock facing out to the wheel of the car but it is only on one side

the lower is 60mm but got myself a 40mm around set now as i want to used it for daily use

a question the rear shock as the marks on indicating the lowerage what the different between each one?

i got a rear axel mate but i'm in north yorkshire

do you have matching tyres?

it sounds like a shock issue, I've seen the problem before, its an issue with adjustable rears they go too low and catch on big tyres
