i also think it depends on what area your in cops around hear seem to be ok and dont bother wasting time with small fish where as the surry police near my work are twats but that could just be their off day. after watchen so many cop programs i do respet that they are doing a job things like telling some ones family that their loved one has been killed in a crash , i couldent do . cops arent half the dicks that most of the public are.

i've got (or at least had) convictions and i don't think they are arseholes, in fact most of the ones i have come into contact with have been really fair, but then again i'm always sound with them, if i've done wrong i put my hands up and admit i've done wrong, i don't give them attitude and if they seem like the sort i'll try and have a crack with them, it gets you much further than trying to be a smart arse. whether you like it or not the police are an authority figure, they shouldn't have to earn your respect.

its just a shame that there hands are tied by so much red tape and human rights bull shit tbh, if some one give's them shit or resists arrest they should be able to tazar there ass and give them a dose of the happy stick for good measure, might make them think twice about doing it in future...

Seroiusly though, most of the police iv come across have been sound. Iv held my hands up and said sorry or whatever, especially if i know I'm in the wrong. However i had one copper who was a right arsehole - yanked my door open, shouted at me etc etc. The guy he was with was apologising to me about the way he was with me though, which made me feel a whole lot better (even his workmates think hes a clunt)

I've had good and bad experiences. Although to be fair I've never been caught doing anything I shouldnt have been, always either misunderstandings or just general contact.

I'm the same as mclovin, always as polite as possible etc, and it usually goes one of two ways. Either the copper twigs that you are a descent chap and arent out to cause anyone any grief, and they are sound with you. OR, they seize the oppertunity to give you the worlds most patronising lecture on everything in the world, which is usually followed by some massive lies about how you will go to prison if you ever get caught with a tail light out, purely to try and shit you up. That really winds me up, being talked to like a retarded 6yr old and you cant do anything exept nod and agree. I hate being patronised.

I'm guessing that's in reply to my post, and no i haven't had any tickets/convictions, my license is completely clean. Just get stopped a lot for no other reason than the fact i'm young and driving a modified car. I've had a couple of producers for things that weren't even illegal; one namely for my straight through exhaust being "too loud". I took it to an MOT station the next day, producer in hand, and the MOT tester just laughed at how stupid the cop was for even trying to do me for it as it's completely legal. I have had other bad experiences with the police that are non-car related, that also back up my points as to why I think they're arseholes but I won't go into it on here.

I'm all for stopping drivers who do commit offences, and fair enough If I ever go through a red light or speed then I'll put my hands up and take the points, fine and won't complain about it as it is for a genuine reason.

Police are sneaky with the camera's and that. But generally i haven't had any problems with them. When i had my GT it broke down on a rounderbout. One copper helped me out. made the road safe helped me get it recovered and was generally a nice bloke. My car doesnt shout "pull me am illegal" and i dont drive in a way to attract attention or clearly break the law.

to the coppers it is what they have to deal with day in and day out. i think after the first month or so they must get pretty tired of it, and whilst it is part of their job.. it doesnt mean they should have to turn the other cheek and let you get away with it.

its my opinion i walked up road other day after watching a fight that was nothing to do with me or any of my mates some bitch copper grabbed me n asked me why i was walking away from the scene.. i told her I'm going to catch bus she askd me for details being all mouthy with me then mate comes and says nahhh matty u dont hafta answer them u aint done nowt wrong she then started calling him a prick asking him for his details then she decided she was gonna arrest him... iv had alot of problems with police like when my windows got smashed and they said they couldnt do owt even tho i had a convo saved on msn where someone admitted to doing it... is that doing their job?? no it fucking isnt... when my brother got twatted by like 15 people and they said they couldnt arrest anyone because of the amount of paperwork they would have to do wouldnt be worth it... is that doing their job??? no isit fuck as far as I'm concerned if they are decent to me ill be decent with them but they are scum of the earth and you can say what u want =]
