No your wrong. Stance is a term in the modding world for how your car sits.. And funny enuff like everythin else, there is always a perfect method. For example.. low as poss, wheels correct fitting to the arches, correct offset.. etc etc.

This process cost hundreds an maybe thousands of pounds, so you cant undermind some of the work people have done to there cars by sayin every car has stance!

as far as I'm concerned the STANCE on a car is the most important bit of a car as it can make or break it

it can have everything on it, sick interior, mental engine in a smoothed bay etc and can be spoilt by the stance, which a lot of cars fail on in my eyes

how can you say there is a perfect method when on a forum, a cars stance is determined good or bad by peoples opinions? there isnt a stance god watching every car forum thread in the world and pm'ing people saying 'well done son you have used the perfect method' is there.

of course i can say every car has a stance i know what stance means, its the way people use it thats wrong. you cant 'HAVE stance', you either have 'good stance', 'bad stance', 'nice stance' etc.

get a dictionary and look up the actual definition of stance...

actually, from now on anybody who claims to 'have stance' must use this formula to prove it.

Hmmm, I dont get it. That beemer just looks way too low.

I think before 'stance' came about. You would just say, 'ahh that sits well', we all know cars that just look 'right'. Some low cars can just look a bit awkward, but some look really well.

I can fully appreciate the time and effort people put into making their cars sit well. Its like everything else, been around for years but suddenly give it a new buzz word and its the 'new' craze.

Oh and traditionally you would say, 'what sort of stance are you going for?' or 'it has a nice stance to it'. And it would seem grammatically incorect to say 'that car has stance'. Because saying it has stance means nothing on its own without an adjective, ie 'i think I want to set it up with an agressive stance'.

my cousins BMW is on AIR...NO ARCH WORK , just a slight knock.

But it looks to me that you've just gone really low on small wheels.

Stance is not about going as low as possible.

Mine was lower on my winters, 15" solitudes, I scraped on all sorts of minor bumps and had the chassis sat on the driveshaft. You have to remember it doesn't really matter about the wheel size, its about the overall diameter including tyre, if you have 13x7s running 185/60 tyres for instance, you are no different to 15x7 on 195/45. Also, slightly off topic, I dont understand how people can come out with claims like -120mm on the front, when the driveshaft hits WELL before this. I couldn't even get to the bottom of my coilovers without it being sat on the driveshaft let alone take the helpers out, I may be missing something here - please explain if I am...

mate you speak so much sense!! especially the 120mm. it annoys me so so much when someone asks how low they are and they always go '120mm all the way round' its just not true!! I'm 110 and everything hits. extra 10mm on my 6n2 and i wouldnt be able to drive it...
