Nope it's a 210 Steve. A couple people have said that because of the mirrors but i have the original Audi purchase invoice showing 210 and also DVLA says the same thing. What makes you say that aswell? lol

It has the facelift grill, headlights, rear lights... indicating it's a 225. Maybe it's a 210 but it was on the change over so you got all the facelift parts with the 210 engine???

It makes no difference it being 210 or 225 (apart from the 225 having VVT)... the main things are the facelift parts which you've got!!!!

210 has VVT too

I've never heard that before... on all platforms... LCR and S3 both i've read that the 210 didn't have VVT and the 225 has got VVT. Which I know has FA to do with performance.

Early models (1999-2001) had 210 PS (154 kW; 207 hp) which is said to be a de-tuned Audi TT engine, and was said to be reduced to lessen brand competition with the more powerful TT. Later models (2001-2003) had variable valve timing and 225 PS (165 kW; 222 hp). The engine provides a maximum 280 N·m (210 ft·lbf) of torque, most of which is available from 2200 through to 5500 rpm. This is the first time a small five-valve engine has been used in an Audi S-series car.

cheers matey! lol i was thinking that the other day actually. 1.0 Corsa, Lupo GTI, and now this...all in 2 years! Insurance is doing me well so i just had to do it. Plus i need to start saving money for future plans so i thought why not up my budget a little and buy one of these where i don't have to spend sooo much on modding it. Luckily for me its mapped to 255bhp already! Wheels, coilys, and engine is all i'm going to do :)

Handling is really good Doug. You really feel how stable it is around bends and corners and really holds the ground. Can't wait to see what it's going to be like lowered! Traction is brilliant, doesn't even want to wheel spin off the mark! 255bhp going through the car is awesome and knowing it can handle more power than that is crazy lol.

My mate has a Y plate, facelift s3, 210 AMK engine that has the vvt and the exhaust gas temp sensor.

S3s tend to handle better standard in my opinion, my mates is on coilies and tends to understeer ALOT more then it did when it was standard.

Looks like a clean one though, and at least its pre 01, cos the road tax rockets up after then!

Just make sure the cambelt has been done though, they tend to break early at around 60-70k (I'm an ex audi tech, seen it loads! lol)

It does handle very well for what it is as standard. I'm enjoying it alot at the moment and coilys etc can wait until next year really. Not that fussed tbh! The guy said the same thing about the road tax thing so i'm glad it won't be as expensive. Cambelt and water pump was changed a month ago during a service so that's another plus for me. It is a very clean car but black is black and gets dirty lol.
