nice!! thanks man! more of mine when there is more to show! lol

argh, still debating going a matt or satin :S

IMO satin looks better, but matt is easier, would i be right in saying that?

i agree, been looking at monster paint for if i go matt.

B-shaw's satin blue is really nice. wouldnt mind a silver'y white satin paint on mine.

as every body always says 'i'm entitled to my say, freedom of speech etc'

i only said the colour was rare!

G40 far too many people go on about them as if there some sorta holy grail, not my bag!

i take my inspiration from all corners of customising so takes alot to impress me am affraid, coverin a car in matt black, aint ground breakin or shocking anymore, but as i say will wait for finished to pass more judgement!

You do that mate

i will

You never know, maybe your period will be finished by the time the car is done and you might cheer the fuck up.

from what B-shaw told me its done in the same way just with more matting agent in with the lacquer to give it the satin finish.

If your going for Matt, Black for example it will show up more imperfections on the body work than the same satin colour would!

Satin is as easy to spray as matt paint imo, just the prep work doesn't have to be as perfect for a good finish!

for example we painted the engine bay of my bug Satin brown, all we did was sand it down clean and paint and its come up pretty good and thats in a bashed about engine bay (had already had the engine in and out 2ce)

sprayed outside in the wind too 8-)

Jesus christ ladies

Slacker, If you dont like what hes doing just keep your trap shut and stop winding him up

Polocollector, If people keep taking the piss just ignore them, they will get bored.

Out of a can matt is difficult to get even imo. No matter how hard you try you will always notice some imperfections in the spread of the paint.

My roof isn't even, however that's because I'm not that tall and reaching to spray on there and get it even was difficult. The rest of the car is, dare I say it, perfect?

Guy, I'm not sure if it because of the amount of matting agent, but 50/50 just seemed like a hell of a lot. But I guess that's due to it being in the lacquer (normal gloss lacquer) rather than the basecoat, which isn't as shiny.

thing is, all he was trying to say was that i wasnt original enuf for his tastes (tho he said it in a stupid way)

and all i was trying to say, was that i simply dont care if i pass 50 of them the same on each trip, I've done it coz i like it!

if we all kept our trap shut there would be no forum

when people are talking about you dont need as much prep work, its easy sprayed etc; what equipment are you's using?

prep work is scotchbrighting the original paint or rubbing down to give a key with 600grit wet n day

mine as it was and boring
