Brunette bird to the left of Clarkson...

:nod::lol:

I thought it was epic tbh

That screen in the Range Rover :o :o How the fuck?!?!?!? Awesome much?

Didn't find any part of it boring this week

Stupid xfactor final next week ruining Sunday

that Twingo bit was epic

i like the look of it as well, looks better than the 500 imo.

That was one of the best episodes of Top Gear I've seen for a long time!

Was sooo funny and inappropriate, just how it used to be!

It's a 58 plate Twingo, so it wil have been on the press fleet for a year or so. It'll already have earned its keep being shipped out to various different mags, so it's not expensive for Renault to sacrifice for a large segment on a programme like TG. Even if it was box fresh cars aren't worth much at cost, so they can write it off as promotional spending. Like the Megane they crashed a few years back.

Ar that Range Rover was the dogs bollocks! my mate's dad's boss (true story) had the old Autobiography version and took us all for a drive in it, amazing jeeps, soo comfy too.

Twingo's ftw!

Just noticed they used two Twingos - the one in the tunnel had a different plate to the one used in the other bits of that sequence.

I'm reckoning they trashed one trying to loop round the tunnel!

thats what i thought, did you see how hard it fell ahaha, didn't make the loop as such, it was hilarious.

I'm typing tired, got that wrong! The one which went around the ice rink is the different car. The one in the tunnel is the same one they used all through the sequence and trashed at the end.

If you have a look on various car mag websites, the ice rink one has been around a bit. The plate ends VAJ (which is why I spotted the plate change!)

You ever been to that Renault thing at Silverstone Alex? i went this year and had a look at these, sat in the Twingo, basic as hell though!

Tunnel crash looked like CGI to me, but still funny though.

Nope, it's always clashing with other things. :(

I've driven the normal Twingo in my trade mag days, but it was a 1.2 "Extreme" not anything special. I quite like them, we'll have to get the Cup in to test at some point.

Shame they didnt allow test drives when i went there, would've loved to take the new Clio Sport out..

That was quite a good episode. Funniest bit imo was when he opened the twingo's boot and Ross Kempe was in there. That twingo looked like a well fun car, i want one.

That's fucking mint - took it around Millbrook and fell totally in love with it. :)

Megane R26.R shits in the Clio's cornflakes though. Epic, epic machine. (the one I borrowed was on TG too, against the Focus RS)

Ah the one with the cage and that... does look pretty hardcore lol..

someone was on about those Meganes, dealerships want over £200 to replace a xenon headlight bulb cause of the ammount of bodywork that needs removing..

definitely, just a shame they had some one who was just trying to sell there film waste 15 mins of it. i'm watching a car show ffs, what the fuck do i care if Guy Richie has made a film about Sherlock Holmes?

why don't they turn it in to racing driver in a reasonably priced car? any one from rallying to F1 maybe even throw some super bike riders in it for good measure. there's always that long running argument about what kind of driver is the best, this could answer it, plus as its a car show it would be more fitting to be hearing about a top driver/riders career and car history then some idiot that just happens to have a film/book/play out at the moment in time.

That wouldn't surprise me. They're designed to reduce crash costs (bumps it down a few insurance groups) hence the fat arse and the way the leading edge of the bonnet is about 2ft from the front of the car. Means in a light bump you'll need a bumper and parts underneath, but the bonnet/tailgate etc should be fine. Bolt on, bolt off, low labour repair.

Trouble is that makes getting to the stuff which is normally under the leading edge of the bonnet a lot more difficult.

It was on Fifth Gear come to think of it..

Best thing is, the presenter changed the bulb in a Mk5 Golf in 1 minute, it took a Green Flag guy like 40 minutes to do the Megane.. and both cars have 5 star NCAP ratings

It's not safety ratings though, it's insurance groups. They'll both be as safe as one another, but I bet the Megane's in a lower insurance group. Partially because French parts are cheaper, but also because you'd struggle to have a bump in the Golf without bending the bonnet. TRUFAX :)

Man In Boot:

Ross Kemp

Enjoyed that episode, from the silly airfield race to the Twingo roadtest with a kick.

In case anyone had the thought, one of the minis in the original Italian Job completed the roll too (filmed in the same tunnel), but they didn't get it on camera.
