Wee update,

Hopefully within the next few weeks I'll get the car to the way I want it. I've ordered a twin 3" outward-rolled tailpipe and I have a golf elbow with filter coming so it should make a difference in looks and sound. I also touched up bits of paintwork on the car so there's no rusty scabs and replaced the front drivers wing for one in a bit better condition. I also got an engine cover with brackets from a scrappy for buttons and although it's a 1.6 cover it makes a big difference and will do until I get a 1L one. However, I now need a pair of front tyres as the tracking is way out and a wheel bearing!

Got my new exhaust fitted today! Well, just a tailpipe but it looks and sounds better I think. First I thought it was a bit big but it's grown on me. Twin outward-rolled 3" cobra tailpipe fitted by Complete Auto Solutions (Free-Flow), shotts. I gave it good polish with autoglym metal polish, highly recommended it's top stuff.

I got mines from a scrappy's near me mate. I wanted a 1.0L one but it was the only one they had. I payed £5 for the cover with 1 cap and the brackets which bolt onto the engine. A bargain considering the brackets are around £15 from VW and most people ask around £20 for the cover alone.

Mine is from a 6n saloon 1.6 8v but as far as I know the engine covers came on Late spec 6n 1.0, 1.4 and 1.6 8v saloon. They also came on early 1.0L and 1.4L Lupo's/ Seat Arossa's (but you'd have to swap the VW badge over) and as far as I know they came on other Seat badged polo's like Ibiza and alhambra? but I'm not 100% sure....(i kinda did my homework when looking for one )Hope this Helps.

oryt mate al keep my eyes open for one, you have a nicee car there like :) where did you get the exhaust from, I'm finding it hard to pick one up for mine so was thinking of going universal :)

Cheers mate, my cousin is part owner of a garage which specialises in custom exhausts. Due to funds and the fact that it's only a 1L I decided it wasnt worth getting a whole exhaust, plus the one that's on is in pretty good condition. It's a twin 3" outward rolled Stainless steel cobra tailpeice welded to the standard backbox. Keep your eyes open on here, folk sell exhausts all the time for reasonable money, I saw someone selling a 2.5" ss exhaust with ashley manifold for £150.

Thanks mate, just got a new job so I'm saving up to get my windows tinted, nothing too dark though. then I'll get some decent sounds sorted out and maybe more.

Update:

Did a few DIY mods today. I found some chrome piping/ trim tape in my grandads garage so I decided to stick it on my rear bumper and it suits the car really well I think, just need to ge the front sorted.

I also Trimmed my boot in black felt carpet. It looks alot better and gives the car a bit more sound deadening aswell.

ye mate, I'm affter a backbox for my mk3 1.0 but cant find them anywhere apart from universal ones but on them it says pipe work will be needed to fit the box wich will mean adapters so the inlet pipe fits onto my exhaust pipe propley but can find adapters either lol!

What size are those ATS classics? How much did you get them for?

the rocker cover comes on some 6n's the elbow came off a 1.4 spi golf mk3

thanks very much i have got one of those elbows now when to my local scrap yard and it cost me £5 for whole lot even air box just need to get k&n now i have put my name down for one of those rocker covers and trim thanks alot for your help
