G60 steels

Featured Replies

i was intresed but you are attitude has put me off , if u speak to people like this then u prob drive like a idiot and have bent , bucled , kirbd these beautiful wheels , not to mention the scratches with those wheel trims

I'm going to clear this up for clarkey..

He does NOT drive like a idiot.. he drives very granny like untill he reaches the orboring on a sunday night.

He has not "bent" "buckled" or even "kerbed" these beautiful wheels.

The wheels trims where off a merc that was in a scrap yard.. and was scratched before he even used them.

And his attitude is only ever negative towards those who are plain idiots or ask stupid question.

You sir are one of those idiots.

The ones with the d shaped holes are not g60's. people just call them that. The circular hole ones are the real g60's

The circular hole ones are just golf steels

G60 steels are the ones with the D shaped holes.

Interested in these, not often REAL (yes ladies, REAL G60's come about). Nothing to swap though so talking straight sale.

Now then, for those who type like they are using the internet at yoofclub  - you FAIL.

These are 'REAL' G60's - if they are 15". If they are 14's then they aren't.

Those who are arguing and driving around on 15's with D shaped holes are the proud owners of PASSAT part no. wheels. (357 601 025M if I haven't gotten it mixed up)

These are the only 6 x 15" 4 stud steels available and have been for the past 6 or so years when avaiability of the REAL G60's ceased but the G60 nickname stuck.

Anyone who has been around long enough will be able to verify this or (if you have the ability) check ETKA, there is (or was for a long time) also a sticky on clubGTI about the matter.

Another example of REAL G60 steels....

To be fair the seller has a point, especially with people making comments such as, "busted" as if he was deliberately trying to decieve people.

You've got an even worse attitude to just assume that he drives like an idiot, and wheel trims don't scratch wheels.

Just to clear this up abit. As i might have been mis informed. Are genuine G60's circular holes and not D shape holes?

There desirability wont change i would have thought. Still both nice looking steels!!

Yep, the original G60's had circular holes - the D shape are catalogued as Passat steels (as above).

these steels will always be popular - not too ugly and a useful size & fitment for all 4 stud VW's. :-)

Also, can you please use proper English Vee-Dub!

I've done some asking about on the G60 subject

its abit of both am affraid!

If you got to vw now, and ask for G60 steels. You'll get the ones with the D holes.

So they are G60 steels.

Even some passats came with the circular shaped holes. So its all mix match imo.

circular round hole 15s are g60 steels (no longer available at the stealers)..

halve circular hole 15s as every 1 calls g60 are in fact passat winters.. also came 5x100

good luck with the sale m8

You aren't far off the mark to be fair as due to their popularity over the past few years that is what they have become known as but your opinion doesn't stand as fact, strictly speaking.

You have missed the point - original G60 winter steels are no longer available - that is why you get the D shaped ones.

They have simply superceded the original ones due to the originals no longer being manufactured (since at least '04, probably longer). If you can find an older version of ETKA BOTH wheels will most likely be on there, the ones that are for sale here will be catalogued as GOLF G60 winter wheels and the D shaped as PASSAT wheels. Newer versions of ETKA only have the D shape. I would be interested to know if anyone has bought the originals new over here or if they have come from the numerous G60's that were imported by the likes of Supergolfs etc who used to advertise in the mags 9 or so years ago from earlier memory. In fact, I wonder if the round hole'd ones were only German Market?

Anyways, I digress. The point of intervening (apart from being interested in the wheels) was to set the record straight over the assertion by certain individuals that these wheels aren't what the seller claims them to be. I'm actually surprised that the sale thread hasn't been cleaned up and the slanderous comments removed.
