If people really thought that theyd cover there whole car in detailing tape *insert picture of cars covered in blue tape*

How doesnt a stone chip ruin it?

If its bad enough it will rust....

Buffed up paint can be polished and got looking good again

Chipped paint isn't that simple to fix and costs a million times more than a bit of polish does.

Is it garaged? If so id take it off whilst in the garage to allow it to dry off every now and then

Or on dry, sunny days when your not driving it.

I just fully don't get bonnet bra's, can someone explain how they work and why so many people seem to have them cos I think they look ****?

used on fast cars to stop stone chips etc as you will notice on most old fast cars have lots of them on the bonnet mainly, but there quite 'scene' as well so people with all sorts of cars have them.

If I'm honest dont see the need for a full front bra but up to you

they also trap water behind them causing Laqure to crack and go cloudy .no matter how much you polish it it wont go away .

my mate had this problem on one of his mk2 golfs

To be fair I'm not fond of my car with the bra on but it does serve a good purpose aslong as you dont leave it on there too long. Two tone bonnet ftl

This is true.

Before I had my front end resprayed, it had chips on the end of the bonnet, which had started turning orangey ( rust ).

Also, just where the roof meets the top of the windscreen, there were chips there when I first got the car, which have now turned into rust bubbles!

So they protect the front section on the bonnet, I see, what about the windscreen?

gimp masks FTW!! if they wernt so bloody expensive from german ebay i would snap one up in an instant!

What point are you trying to make here?

Chips on the windscreen ain't half as noticeable or common as on the front of the car.

Plus, windscreens are cheaper to replace than getting bonnets and bumpers resprayed!
