wont idle when warm

Hi all, my polo is being a pain.When you first start it from cold its fine and then after a clouple of minutes it goes all lupy and wont idle.if i rev it and try to hold the rev it trys to die,I have also noticed that it the temperature gauge do not go up unless driven and also the bottom hose stays cold for ages.Its a 1.0 so nothing special.
