Featured Replies

Ok I have been looking around on all the forums trying to find information about about howto achieve this MOD.

clubpolo.co.uk

edition38.com

uk-polos.net

clublupo.co.uk

And still I am yet to find some proper information on how to get both the two front seats fitted and the Rear Bench fitted also.

Here is all the info I have found so far...

Link on club polo showing some discussion about this but no detailed information - http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=109183

I have a budget of a £1000 to get a set of Golf MK4 recaros fitted into my new Polo Mk4 6n 16v

If anyone can provided more information please can they provide some links.

Kind Regards and thanks in advance.

This has been done .i have never done this and haven't seen any info about it but what am thinking is that u will have to cut out the centre floor fixing on your valver and also cut one out a mk4 golf from a scrappys then weld the new one in. Am not 100% sure if the runners are the same width but you may also have to fit subframes. and with the rears i would imagine that its the roughly the same as a mk3 rear seat seat up where you have to remove the tabs on the lower bench and then switch the rear metal plates on the benches.

All i can "Think" of what would need to be done. But could be wrong. what about Mk5 golf gti seats. This has been done by someone on here who were the first to do it that i know of anyway. That way you could probably buy Edition30 recaro front seats. :)

Kuszpit :)

edit : no idea why the person with the blue mk4 seats fitted didn't just put mk3 vr6 seat in it coz they have the same if not better support than the standard mk4 seats he has fitted. for going to all that trouble he should have fitted the recaro ones instead.

Cheers Kuszpit :)

is there link to the guy whom did this with mk5 seats. Also I will keep looking around and try to gain more info. but thanks for you comments and insight !

kind regards

No problem mate. :)

Heres the link to trav's polo with the edition 30 seats. These are lovely seats but i think new audi s3 (and mk5 r32 ) seats fit the same as these and they have they wide to section like bucket seats and also where the harness slots are is where they recline forward. so you could always buy them and then just retrim the standard rears in leather too, or sumit like that.

Also after looking through 26 flippin pages of the for sale section i found this which i found when i was considering the mk4 recaros earlier in the year. not sure if u would be able to contact him becoz he has only 13 posts so i think he may have only been on here to sell the car. heres the link

Hey Kuszpit,

(Black leather Mk4 recaros in a 6n ) http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?...=mk4+golf+seats.

I seen this black open air polo a while back and I asked the dude that owned it how he got the MK4 Golf seats in there, but all he simply advised is that he got some garage to do it for him.....

am really wanting to get some cloth GTI ANNIVERSARY RECARO's fitted

Recaro.JPG

It might be the case of get the front seats fitted and then like you say retrimming the rear bench to try and match the front seats.

Nice one for providing the link back to that black open air polo Kuszpit Cheers

i was going to say i could do it gor you for £150 but you are far away!

it's not that hard to be honest, bit of custom bracketry and welding here and there.

Aww dude Don't say that I really want get this done soon as possible. Any information in which you can provide would be more than Appreciated seriously...

Recaro.JPG

pretty sure they are American Bora spec seats (could be wrong). You could pic up a set of Mk4 golf 25th Anniversary seats. which look very similar but with red stitches etc. :)

Hey Kuszpit,

hey they are American Bora spec seats I just used this an example picture really.. your on the ball hahahah lol....

it's been a good few years since i put mk4 4 golf seats in a 6n, done a couple of mk4 - mk3 golf seats too.

front seats from memory - mk4 4 golf use wheels on the rear rather than the square metal parts polos use, these wheels are too fat to fit in the polo runners, so you need to remove and file / grind down the wheels off the golf seats until they fit into the polo runners - thats the easy bit.

next - chop off the front mount for the polo seat (from the body of the car) next either source or fabricate an L shaped bracket around 35-40mm high and 100mm long, this must be from good thickness / strong steel, this bracket needs to be welded onto the cross member where you chopped off the polo mount, it will also need two holes drilled in it which the mk4 golf seat bolts to (2 x 13mm nuts). additional supports may need welding to the bracket / cross member to ensure absolute rigidity and strength.

hopefully you get the idea, i cannot provide pics of any done myself as it was before digital cameras were freely available and the nokia 5110 was the latest in mobile technology.

Pretty sure he'd just buy them if he wanted the easy option, bit boring though ;)

Nah, Lupo seats fit in a more similar way to the Golf seats rather than the Polo
