start or with like a 400 grit sandpaper then get finer which is higher numbers...so 1200 withh give a ncie finish higher if u more more shine, and a good metal polish is autosol...which comes in a little tube, use water with the wet and dry when you get to the finer grits, and you can also your a small amount of polish with the finest paper you have first, the buff after..use a lint free cloth to buff it/apply it but make sure u take it off with a clean one :D

And take pics! so we can see :)

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Will grab a few pieces of each then tommorow.. and a tube of that autosol, I am sure I've seen it before! I am going to have to refer back to your guide when I get everything! haha.. :)

I'll try and get some pics ;)

Cheers

also, perhaps slightly better is a wheel refurb guide, in the wheels technical section, which shows pics of what you should be doing, granted its on a wheel but the same basis, so check that out aswell bud

Good news - You're not the first to call it a 'rocket cover'.

Bad news - Only one person has previously done so,and he got the piss ripped out of him hard.

Cool.

And cheers Lawry, will check it out right now

I painted one satin black, and laid bright red inserts in the two grooves.

Not the look you're after but it did look good.

There have been previous topics on polishing rocker/cam covers before and some have good pics and instructions,so they're worth rooting out with the search function.

Thought you wanted to revamp one of these... I was gonna say, just buy a new one you cheapskate its only a white sheet!
