surely it would have to be a bike?

two grand in a bike could prob see 4 seconds to 60 and 150-180mph top speed

imprezas are sick if you spend the wright money on one but not 2grand lol.

but a renult 5 gt turbo, we had one of these that was 225 hp and done 11.5 1/4

right sleepers and are quick, take out interior and ull be gone from most. see if you can get an impreza tho you want 4wd really tho and the thing with renult gtt is that its not so u do get problems with traction.

also another godden is a robin hood 8-) a lotus 7 without the badge (its a kit car) get the 2.2 pinto and youll do 60 in 4 :-)

might have a call about a pulsar. ideally would like something reliable and meant to cope with the power from the box

evos and imprezas are still no goes for me, I'm only 20 and insurers have a fit if i try n get a quote lol

really liking the look of a 5th gen 2.2 vti prelude tbh, and slamming it, stripping it maybe with a cage and buckets, and stickin it on some rota rims and just rinsing about in that untill i can afford something big german and actually rapid lol

also a bike is also a no go, no bike license, it doesnt have heaters and i know too many people who have been killed/maimed on em!

get a saab 2.0 turbo its the same as the vauxhall engine and there are a few people by me that have got about 300bhp out of those and i can pretty much promise that you mates wont go out buying saabs you could even get a convertible.

The B-series 2.0 and 2.3 lumps are Saab motors, not GM stuff - they're actually very loosely based on the old Triumph slant-4 engine! The newer 9-3 models do use Vauxhall lumps though. They are very tuneable, the 9000 B-series engines are the toughest - mine made 290bhp with just a remap to wind the boost right up. If you stick a bigger turbo on then you can get a reliable 380-400bhp on the stock bottom end.

Only problem now is finding a decent 9000 - a lot have been broken for spares, and I think the scrappage scheme's claimed a lot of others. The newer 9-5s can suffer from oil sludge issues, killing the turbo and ultimately engine - so they're a bit more of a risky buy.

Nope, I think they did a demonstrator vehicle based on a 9-5 - but it never made it to production. Probably got GM's cost cutting to thank for that!

only at low speeds though as in parking speeds iirc

If you're worried about running costs though all of these cars are going to sting you at some point. Jap cars ain't cheap although you can reduce the costs by sourcing parts from the US.

IF I had £2k and wanted the fastest and most reasonably reliable car with decent running costs a G40 would be up there tbh. They cost fuck all these days and the basic tuning is pretty cheap in terms of bang for buck. Or maybe an old Pug Rallye....

Nice 306 GTI-6 for £1200, spend the rest on a 2nd hand exhaust and manifold, and a pair of cams. Get it mapped when you've got some spare cash again! 200 bhp per tonne, that's E36 M3 territory :)

only thing is they have a few issues with tappets
