i have the standard aee and as the heads coming off soon i want to find some more torque while I'm at it,and a couple of horses

will have it ported n polished,but not sure on cams,was thinking 268,then either gt fueling or bike carbs?

only polish the exaust ports

Mine looks like the AEE one above but did myself :)

My mate said he had a go on his 205.. The way he did it was to have 4 cups of water the same. And poor them into the cylinder head and mark off the levle . Although this would allow you to have the same size ports the shape could still be diff.. God knows gow he blocked the ports off :/ lol

iv been told to do this with the combustion chamber for balancing. only instead of using cups of water id use syringes marked with the CC's for the exact amount.

Yeah equal volumes.

Did it with my head.

Piece of glass with a hole. Smear of Vaseline to head surface. Will using a burette and voluming oil.

Also gives an indication of if your valves are lapped properly too

Hi everyone,

I have a 1.3 Polo engine with a hydraulic lifter cylinder head. On inspection, I noticed:

• a large lump in the exhaust bowl

• a small bump in the intake port

In one photo, you can still see a small edge on the right side, but in another photo where more light is shone, it’s completely gone.

My question: is it safe to remove these completely when porting, or is it better to leave some material? I’ve seen tuning companies like KWL Motorsport and TKMotorsport remove this (look at the photos), but I’d like to hear your experience before I start on the head.

I’m mainly aiming for maximum power between 4–8k rpm. Any tips or experiences with hydro head modifications are welcome!

Have you shortened the valve guides?
