if he had made a show car and you said that it was shit then yes it's an insult, but this isn't a show car, it's the opposite, it's been made to look shit. you saying that it looks shit is pretty much the biggest compliment you could give it

If you cant realize that (Jon h) then you are pretty stupid Its what forced rat is all about, doing something different and making it look more like a work of art.

However, the MK3 breadvan plastered in stickers is what completely ruins the whole 'scene' of forced rat. Because it looks bloody stupid and is trying to be something it isnt. Its all bullshit like stickers and a rusty bonnet. Which ISNT what forced rat is.

Slackers is a perfect example of a good forced rat car, that MK3 is a perfect example of a wannabe sheep fail.

Done properly a forced rat car can be very very cool. There are very few of these cars about though, which i suppose makes them even better

Its just a shame u get a bunch of noob sheep ruining it all with fastcar stickers and paint stripper.

Slacker turned up at the polo show last year on the Sunday morning... car looked hella cool and in with the rat theme either slacker himself or his mate decided to grind a coil or two off his mk2 golf driver at the show... love it!

i reckon if the forced rat looks natural, then its cool as fuck. I'm not overly keen on the 'lets cover our cars in random shit' thing like that mk2 with the chains and rope on the bumper, but its good for a laugh haha. and the french style rat with the seats made of wicker and hay stickin from the bumpers is just bent cos they seem to take it seriously

man that sounds just like one of my rants on the subject

each to their own i guess, but i have a point to make and i agree entirely with jon H. it takes time and effort to keep a car looking nice, any nice person can smash a car up so it barely gets through MOT and drive it

i get enough dirty looks driving an e36, couldnt be assed driving that 99.9999999% of people think "why the fuck is he driving that, he obviously cant afford a decent car" not saying you cant, but thats defo the impression it gives off. with old classics you can tell its by choice, but the mk2/3 polo is still seen by many as the ultimate cheap granny car. was watching road wars before and they pulled over some scagheads in a coupe S iirc, when the police activities were described as "pulling scruffy cars"

maybe at the age of 20 and 346 days I'm getting old before my time
