Doug, reading that, it seems like you care too much about what other people think of you

But then again, you drive a BMW, and +90% of road users hate us BMW drivers  so thats a slight contradiction?????

Fair enough, not wanting to drive a certain car because you dont like it, but not wanting to drive a certain car because of what other people might think of you :? i just find that sad TBH

i dont really give a shit, BUT i just dont get it why people do it to themselves. because in some contexts what people think does matter

if at my old job i turned up in a ratted mk2 polo like that there is no way they'd have employed me

i reckon if the forced rat looks natural, then its cool as fuck.

I'm not overly keen on the 'lets cover our cars in random shit' thing like that mk2 with the chains and rope on the bumper

Bit of a contradiction isnt it? Find me a forced rat which looks more 'natural' than slackers....

They are natural rats, i.e. been dragged out of a field and made to work  The only forced rat there is the type3, and the hoodride beetle with the stuff on the roof. I happen to know that bug had the paint taken off and was left to get to that state, and the type 3 you can tell has just had its paint stripped....

The rest though are natural rats, they have patina - it takes years to perfect, and cannot be completed in a week like a forced rat....

I meant forced rat polo's as that was what he was on about ( I think) If not then my bad

I think that makes yours rat tobes ;)

cheers for all your supportive comments on this topic fellas

my new bready aint gettin any love in the gallery :crybaby:

Polo's lookin good, put some black weller steels on and slam it ;)

But tbh its not "rat" and the term "rat" is used a bit too often/loosely really e.g. putting a rusty bonnet on a car isn't rat, its just a rusty bonnet on a car :smirk:

Example:

On the other hand this does look remotely good and "rat" even if its not "true/un-forced rat":

rolo's just full of win

Slacker turned up at the polo show last year on the Sunday morning... car looked hella cool and in with the rat theme either slacker himself or his mate decided to grind a coil or two off his mk2 golf driver at the show... love it!

that was me mate dan, were supposed to be doin my back springs but bottled it as i had all that stall stuff in

point of this thread = he wanted pictures of ratted polos

who cares if you dont like them your not helping the kid are you, no, just causing more arguments, go somewhere else for your little bitchfest

tbh i class my car as a rat, even though it is obviously forced etc... well apart from the front wing.. tbh its my car and i love the way it looks and doing random things to it.

I can't wait til this rat fad is over and you have to try and either fix this nonsense or sell them lol.

Some clown scoffed at the carbon fibre bonnet on the integra and said that "rust is lighter than carbon fibre" as he got into his rat. It may well be, but a surface rusted steel bonnet is not, you still-born.

might contradict what i said before a bit in some peopples eyes, but that green coupe is cool like, no matter what your opinion on rat everyone loves stickerage =p

tbf every one of them is forced rat, they are just made to look natural, but alas they haven't. some many of got pretty ratty but all of them look like they have had parts sanded down to give it the patina.

still that for me is what rat cars are all about, looking like they have got that way through years of neglect, whether they have or some one has just made them look like they have does really matter to me.

A fair few rats are joke/second cars anyway, i quite like the innovation that goes into a lot of em. Like the infamous punto, had loads of neat little touches.
