lupo rear bumper bolts on so that'll sort that but the front is a little harder.

the budget for this build is 1k - it's up to £630 now with the new wheels but i'm selling the BBS for £110 so it'll bring it back down to £520.

engine was a straight bolt in fitment, loom was a little different - the 6n loom has a different route than the arosa for the headlights etc and i had the earlier loom for the polo with the later plugs on the arosa, so i split the two looms taking the management loom from the polo 16v loom and the lighting loom from the arosa and mated the two so it's plug and play and looks oem.

Was going to say the lupo rear bumper fit as that makes the job on the rear much easier. Smooth the front bumper recess though. Someone on club lupo has a met green arosa on which he has smoothed the recess on the front and rear bumper iirc and it looks soooooo good.

Whats the thoughts on the colour for this car? Staying red?? Looks cool on the steels. Nice work!! So how many engine conversions you got under your belt now?? You seem to be doing one every time you post

thanks bud, think i've done 30 - 40+ conversions, got another two or three to do this month.

bodywork plans are frown the bonnet, fit mk4 golf handles and delock kit, delete repeaters and possibly front indicators (in a poundie's polo style), may stick a sprinter vent in the wing (i've had a b/n one in my room for 2 years), debadge, side exit exhaust, may do something with the rear arches and obviously sort the front bumper. i don't like the void under the grill or the three indents running around it. might be easier to mod a lupo front to fit too.

as for colour i have no idea, i was on the verge of ordering a load of olive drab military green for it but then i'd have to paint bay and inside so not sure now - may stick with red for ease....

Yeah it is those three indents i was talking about that need filling. Could always give it a go with the arosa bumper and if you can't get it right then fiddle a lupo front bumper to fit although that could be a pain??

I have a pickup truck in satin nato green on black wheels and it looks awesome If it is a budget car then why the heck not. Much easier to lay the paint down if you lacked experience like me. None of the paint has fallen off or anything yet and it has been around a year. Cost, next to nothing.

Plans sound sick.....and keep the bora.

started to frown the bonnet last night - well i welded a couple of plates on, now i'm not sure i like it but it's hard to judge when it's all rough and in primer (to keep the snow off the bare metal)

obviously will need more work to get it to look right, options are;

1)badboy slant over headlight and leave indicator

2)frown and reduce indicator size to match headlight

3)frown and delete indicator completely

suggestions welcomed

Coming along very nicely and quickly, what have you got planned with it when you've completed?

just use it as my daily driver, i'm doing mechanic work most weekends so it'll be my van and save the bora.

was going to pm you earlier, did you need all the bushes with the arb?

Id weld up the side part of the indicator hole and then match the bonnet to it so you can only see a small portion of the head light, but you'd have to keep the side repeaters wouldn't you.

Wow that is quick work i read the first post and thought to myself, ill leave it for a week or so and catch up on a few bits, glad i checked it earlyer than expected i would of been reading for hours on updates if left another couple of days :-)

Did a few quick chops for you, will give you a 'slight' easier way of look to go with on the bonnet/headlamps etc
