Garage door reinforcement

just to let you know mate, if you make a trap that seems obvious that you intended to cause injury rather than make it difficult to access your property [and do actually hurt the scumbag], it may leave a well informed criminal to be able to claim off you/possible criminal sanctions

its bullshit, but its true

I better lower my drawbridge.

This is why when my folks kept getting someone coming over the fence at night, they settled for a nice ripe bucket of dog shit in the appropriate place.

 love it!

just dont pour boiling hot tar on them, and you should be ok

Light contact explosive smeared across the door handle. Google can give you several receipies (I assume). When you want to access, set of the handle with a stick. When they want to break in, burnt hand.

But in a more serious note, reinfoce the door with a box-section steel frame is probably what I'd do.

Ammonium TriIodide! A stable liquid but once it dries once touch and booom...... Covers the victim in purple powder too!

rig a small explosive into a car alarm that is attached to the door so if its opened the alarm goes off and then put balloons around the explosive so the people breaking in get covered in paint. and then u can hunt them down and beat them with a baseball bat :)

also to disarm it just disarm the alarm with the blipper simple

jus watch home alone theres plenty on there

Stuff that 12v car battery effort,id rig a 415v bare wire around the door. It wont kill them but will probably knock them out. I've had a belt myself on site, and i froze for a few minutes. Couldn't deal with plugs or wires for the rest of the day.

No injury afterwards but for a tiny burn on the fingertip, means no legal comeback. One wire and transformer,so its easy to remove without trace.

£3000 for a garage door fitted by me. Expensive but they'd never get in!

You got away light, when I had a proper jolt of 240V I couldn't add up for a week

All this talk of explosives etc haha!

I actually have things in the garage that i dont want blown up or covered in paint. May as well let them steal the stuff in there.

I robbed some junk from work today, will try and bodge it all together tomorrow. Due to skint'ness it will be a pure bodge job as well  Just using scraps from around n about.

Place a load of dog shit on the floor in front of the garage?

I saw that on tv too the other day ;) i'd wanna use a big bag full though - purple mushroom cloud

Sell the space outside your garage for overnight truck parking.......

Some Polish driver will look after you then!!!

maybe some metal bars that go into a hole in the floor and some how into the roof? padlocked up. like a bolt on the gate etc. worke don my dads garage we used to run and jump into top of them around my area to bounce of then relised the fat kind made them spin and open lol!

and some side ways for extra support on inside and also bars on inside upwards

I've got one of these, works a treat as its a visual detererrent!

Whatever you do DONT wire a car battery - suppose a little kid casually leans on it or something

Move?

two bols like u put on gates (about £6 from b&q)

drill into the floor, knock some steel tube into the floor.

rivet bolts to garage door, drop into floor, padlocks on, did that at home, u cant even move to do to get anythin under it!

are you aloud to do stuff to the lock up if its not yours??

i think a simpal dead bolt in the out side of the door that goes in to the concret wood be enuff or one eather side on the bottom of the door in to the frame..

It will stop them touching it though, i don't want something to kill them  Just enough to get the 'fuck off' point across.

but how are you going to get in to it if it's wired up? you'd have to touch it to get in and disarm it

You wear a form of plastic gloves I would have thought.. but then I'm not looking to rob anyones garage. May well be beyond yer average toerag

Really? Our electric fencing is run off of a 12v car battery and it fucking hurts when you touch it.

ye but its amplified via capacitors, a disposable camera has a 1.5v battery but you pull it apart and touch the circuit board...go on, you know you want to now.. (used to work in a morrisons photolab so i know). (I'm not responsible for any injury caused, but if you do make sure theres nothing breakable nearby and your in an open space)

PS: dont forget to tape it for our pleasure hahahaha

as for fences ours has 4 settings. from the manual :

1 for small animals (dogs/foxes etc), 2 Medium (pigs/sheep etc), 3 (cattle/horses), 4 (Bulls) (Danger: May cause severe electric shock or temporary paralysis to humans)

:lol::lol::lol:

we did have it wired up to the store shed door handle for a few weeks after someone tried to break in.

Move?

I think what I'm going to do is just re-enforce the doors (i have 2 garages btw)

One has a new ish door which is a bit stronger than the ones they broke into, I'll get some metal frame stuff bolted to that and add a lock at the bottom going into the ground. This is the one that has parts and tools in.

The other, where the car lives, has a shitty old door thats fucked at the bottom. Going to re-enforce that even more but wont be bothering with the other lock as it already has 2.

Those garage defenders are good but its the kinda thing that stands out. You could rip the door out of the frame if they really badly wanted to get in so it wouldn't be of much use.

A few rusty looking padlocks and bolts don't stand out and do the job fine. Oh and are a million times cheaper.

Another one I've used is a rape alarm bolted to the wall with the pull-string extended and hooked to the door. Make the string long enough so you can unhook it when you open the door a few inches, but short enough that it sets off the alarm when the bastards try to break in.

A deterrent at least...
