The phone idear is ok for a £500 car but not somthing you would want to do on a new car.

I like the idear of a tracker as it means the police will actually look for it, not just give you a crime number and sod off for a cup of tea.

The VHF and GPS combine systems look the best but there are quite a few.

You can get them with a card that you keep with you that if not present in the car alerts the tracking company to call you and ask if the car has been stolen.

Then they call the police and they 95% of the time get your car back undamaged. Insted of the 50% of the time you get your car back at all.

sigma s30 car alarm has a feature of active live tracking thrugh gsm but as said its not very accurate. saying that i tried it on my g40 as they have a live website you can use to do it and it led me right to my car (just a test its never been stolen as i know all the tea leafs)
