To be fair, some people just join this forum because they own a polo and want help runnning / fixing it. Does that make them part of the scene?

And just because they happen to read these kinds of threads and have an opinion on them, does that automatically make them part of the scene?

i am apart of it for the right reasons,we were on about the secene trends.

but i don't follow scene trend, i am not well known in the scene, i don't have stretch tyres because i think I'm a sheep, i don't spend a grand on a set of wheels, i don't take days to polish my car with over priced products.

but what i do know is i have good cheap fun with a bunch of friends. even though my car was done very cheaply. it still got me a trophy and got me a few pictures in the mags last year.

you drive a vw that has matt paint and bright coloured wheels, now you may of done it because that's what you like and not to fit into a scene, but lets face it having a matt vw with bright wheels is a scene trend and you are doing it.

now what's to say that all these people that you are labeling as sheep are styling their car's in a way that they like through their own choice because they like it and not because it's the 'scene' thing to do, just like i assume you did?

if they are sheep just because the way they wanted to style their car fits in to a clique then that makes you a sheep too.

why do you feel you need to make assumptions over other dubbers? with all this 'i am apart of it for the right reasons' as if you assume that every one else isn't, and the assumption that others are just following every one else and not doing it because they like it?

My mum had a lightly tuned one about 8 years ago, when i just passed, i had a quick blast of it up the little road near mine and nearly smashed it into a curb never experienced torque steer like it before hahaha, nothing compares to it still, that i can think of. My 20vT polo was quick-ish, but it was smooth delivery, that Astra was like being fired out of a cannon when the right pedal went down :-D

Love the digi dash's too

My older cousin did the same euro look 4 years ago with his polo, its just got cheaper to do now which is why more people are doing it. Euro aint over played. It just got commercial! Like every popular style usually does.

now my ideas on the topic..

the true euro styling hasnt really been done in the uk as i think i said in another thread.. the euro look is totally smooth with true bling (chromed running gear etc) and alot of airbrush work. the euro styling thats around in the uk is more cleaned/OEM+ imo. losing afew bits.. smoothing afew bits.. bit of stretch to run wider wheels.. swapping bits over from other models in the range.

dont think the look has been played out as is simple and doesnt really scream out look at me I'm different! willbe around for along time just at the moment its very popular so is in alot of mags. the vauxhall boys n girls have been OEM+ there cars for years.. 2.0 16v corsas and swapping bits over from higher spec models as has the volkswagen followers.

all about doing what you like because you like it.. always has been.

After reading a few posts about chavs and ford vs vw I'm hearing a lot of people saying that the euro has look has been played out. and seeing as i haven't really been around cars as a lot of people on here who seen styles come and go i thought id see whats going to be next in peoples opinions.

it is a 16v, needs a rebuild though, just waiting for the lad to let us know what he wants for it, i hope he don't break our dreams and say he wants too much for it (needs and engine rebuild but has had a lot spent on it in it's time).

1. now calling me a c**t is not a very nice thing.. I'm also registered on crazydubs and also know will the founder as another big C and me helped will strip a dash from a polo not soooo many moons ago. wills got some funny ideas sometimes but hes a nice guy.

2. now i think ure a bit of a cock yes but i asked if you were a member of crazydubs because being so makes you part of the volkswagen scene.. a club/forum within the big scheme of things. as for people hating you i think your getting above youre station. whats to hate?
