i got some g60 brakes the other week and i got them powder coated green :)

also have good ridge hoses for them!

or some very big spacers lol, i know i have had to use the standard 239, witch is fun with a valver lump behind them, but i have groved and drill discs and green stuff pads so its no to bad now :)

Just a quick wee update today!

Started on removing the engine out of the GTi! only on it for 2 hours or so, so not loads done, but enough!

removed:

everything air con related

exhaust mani

inlet mani

fuel rail

fuel lines

charcole chamber

throttle body

PAS pump

alternator

started removing wiring from everywhere!

header tank

most hose's

ah getting there! in now rush

Also, compression tested the block and the results show a fault:

cyl1: 1psi

cyl2: 16.6psi

cyl3: 16.1psi

cyl4: 16.4psi

so i think theres some bent valves in cyl1 or piston rings... dont think its the piston since it still held 1psi

dont have them in, that pic was from the owners car that they were in!

bought the tow strap off a boy on here

another wee update:

got some 6n2 GTi door cards the other day as i wanted black/red ones and not just full blacks! got them fairly cheap too

wiring loom is nearly ready to come out too win! lifted the engine out myself forgetting there heavy wee engine lol

new wheels:

veryyyyy happy i now have a set as I've been wanting them for a while! there rareish A8 winter mono's <3

well my wheels arrived the other day :)

sat them up against the car to see what they would be like... imo AMAZING! they do look massive but its just because there sitting against the monos and not on the car!

they also came wrapped very well...

Can i ask what the advantage of 6N2 doors is?

saved him worrying about getting the doorcards fitted etc and also all the wiring issues, he can now just transplant it all over....quite genius actually!!

spot on sean :-D saves time and effot! all wee need is a wee bit of welding to blank the bump strip holes and jobs done! as the cars getting sprayed again anyways!
