car needed for mag shoot

Long shot but I've got this?

Got some unusual tuck on the back axle there, you using early Minifins? Or just early drums? I've never managed to get 165's that far under the arch on Rover 12's,though its been preferable because i always preferred no arch extensions (and 10's).

Standard spaced minifins, its just those horrid Wood & Picket arches that where on it back to standard rover ones now looks far better, my last mini i was running 165's on 10's with no extensions and they just squeezed under with a tad bit of poke but i never got pulled.

I agree, cant go wrong with the Austin/Rover ones, but had they been genuine W&P arches it'd wouldn't have looked bad.

Nice example,btw

Thanks dude, its all original paint and panels e.t.c no rust to be seen :) I've put lots of work into it over the years I've had it its currently hiding away in the garage waiting for the summer to come so i can have a blast on some b roads , I think they are genuine w&p ones they were put on in 1996 waaay before i had the car theres a reciept from wood and picket for the arches i hated them big bulky things.

no offence indy but you've paid for pretty much all of the work to be done by other people, you even said you pay some one to wash it for you.

seems to be a bit of confusion over the other post.

This post was started because i needed to source an old school car for a feature.

I opened the other post because I'm looking specifically for a car that's been "built not bought" its very diffrent to me looking for an old school motor regardless of who built it.

I'm looking for a car that you have modified yourself, fitted a kit smoothed it etc

You dont have to have painted it yourself but you need to be able to say that you did most of it it by yourself.

I still appreciate you sending me any cars though they can always be used else where.

cheers all

**cough bora**

oh been there done that  was good to see you saturday bud, good luck with the search!

built this my self its old skool and had alot of go in it and lots of toys. but it is a rally car so is a bit tatty around the edges compared to a show car.

lol, guys this is why i started a new post :)

I'm not after an old school car, I'm after a car thats been built, not bought.

But the post i started asking that, got deleted and i was told this post was asking the same question.

which it wasnt :p

i would much rather read about this sort of car that someone has spent time and effort on, than some jazzed up motor that has just had a cheque-book thrown at it! cheques can't buy character and this car has bags of it imo.

i agree the other thread should of left open to stop confusion.

I'm building a mk1 scirocco on hydraulics with my own fair hands atm, it won't be finished for a couple of months yet, and whether it will be worthy of any kind of feature only time will tell i guess

I did have this

but it now looks like this

because I did this

This car took 2 and a half years to build. don't suppose the photos I have would be good enough for the magazine?
