Thing is, people here are saying it's been ruined, but what if the Lambos being turned into a track car and having a different lump dropped in it anyway?

I'm confused, that mustand IS the lambo.. they've just pretty much ruined the old lambo shell by sticking mustangy bits on it.

as far as i can tell.. don't know what they've done with the engine and shit though like what all the box section is for. maybe I misunderstood a little..

And you lot moan when the ford forum critisizes you all for having stretched tyres. How about realising that not everyone has the same taste in cars???

This was built by the bloke from Roush, the mustang tuning company. So whatever you pricks might think, this hasnt been done to improve the lambo. Its been done to make what the builder thinks is the 'ultimate mustang'.

There are also plenty of people (myself included) who wouldnt be seen dead in such a poncey italian supercar, and I'm sure if I got hold of one I would want to do somthing similar to it.

Whatever anyone says, having a mustang with the running gear of a lambo is cool for sure. But having a lambo with the fat body of a mustang isnt cool, you see what I'm getting at here?

Besides, theres a real possibility that it was a stolen lambo anyway, hence why it all got put into some other car.

Yeah that's what it looks like to me, As far as i can see they're only using the engine/box from the lambo and some of the interior. Which would mean that there's still a lambo rolling shell... But yes you would've thought the person would have to be mad to swap the lambo V10 for something else; but It was just an idea!

But anyway, the lambo isn't a proper track car! As tommo says above, it's a poncy italian car for people with more money than sense. If you wanted to go as fast as possible round a track in a road car, you'd buy an Ultima instead.

The mustang has all the drivetrain, brakes etc, no doubt most of the suspension. Dashboard, clocks. The rest of the lambo will be useless.

Apart from the money side of things i can't see how this is much differnt from taking a Golf/polo etc and stick an audi lump in it and upgrading the suspension

#13 made an awesome point, If it was a mk2 polo with audi R8 running gear you would be able to swim through this thread from everyones jizz cluttering the place.

The back end still looks hideous though. Its so bad I think I would rather have the back end of my car grafted on there.... oh wait..... my car is a mustang too! :p :p :p :p

Got to agree on the back end, doesn't look good, however I think the rest of it is pretty cool and fair play to him for having the balls (and money) to do that.

Now that engine in Tommo's Mustang, WOULD BE SOMETHING ELSE :D

As some one said earlier, this is like taking the insides out of a 3k rolex watch and putting them in a 5 quid casio. There are plenty of writen off lambos out there that would of done the job just as well but he ruined a good one for no reason. Maybe ruined isn't the right word, how about distroyed?

As for the polo 1.8t comment, these engines tend to come from insurance write offs so whats your point?

As some one that loves cars i hate to see perfectly good cars going to waste (hence my hatred for the scrapage scheme), if that makes me a prick then so be it.

If he had shown the lambo the respect it deserves by using a writen off one instead i garentee this thread would be totally different, he would of got the respect he deserved and most of the car loving internet wouldn't be calling him an idiot

tbh he has the last laugh though because

a] hes rich enough to do what the fuck he wants

b] he has a cool unique car at the end of it that is famous lol

c] loads of people jealous of his money are bitching about it, but realistically would never be able to do anything as cool/original

i quite like it personally, not too keen on the back end but meh, its still sick as hell

Sorry, I was wrong to point a stick at everyone, i was just a bit pissed at all the comments.

It was just how narrow minded everyone was, as soon as they read he had used a lambo as a donor car it was as if he had set fire to the beyeux tapestry. I dont see anyone mourning the loss of the mustang he cut up. Anyone with half a brain will realise that all he has done with the lambo is change the way it looks, its the mustang thats had its heart ripped out. I call that a waste, not what happened to the lambo. No one is asking why he didnt use a mustang with a blown up engine. Put a gay italian supercar in the picture and everyone goes all weak at the knees.

And you dont have any room to talk mr lovin. Look at you jumping on the hate bandwagon, critisizing his chassis, which I thought actually looked very well constructed (and many high spec race cars use box section BTW). But the bloke hasnt set out to improve the handling of the lambo, suddently everyone turns into the passionford forum that only a month ago everyone was critisizing for the way they couldnt see the point of mods that werent strictly for performance. Hypocritical?

Like someone else pointed out, the lambo is no enthusiasts car, just a well engineered, expensive, comfy, fast, sports car, and all the well engineered bits now live in a (slightly odd looking) mustang, big deal.

I'm obviously biased because I'm not a fan of the lambo, I dont view it as any sacrelige either as its a pretty new car, so its abscence will just mean that the lambo factory has to turn out an extra one next year. Like I've said I dont see that the lambo was wasted, it has pretty much all been used in the mustang, its the mustang parts that have been wasted, althogh being Roush I'm sure they will have just flogged them on.

I'm with you on the scrappage scheme too, it seems poor for the environment and destructive to the classic car scene of the future.
