Off topic slighty... I've only been here a while but has anyone else noticed how anything slightly contraversal posts gets flamed for a page or two, they'l be a few posts of more reasonable points of view before everyone starts arguing about some slightly relevent points

If i saw the car at a show id spend a good amount of time lookin around it, its the sort of car i can imagine myself think up if i had the sorta cash he has, but i wouldn't buy it, to new and big and flashy for me.

I reckon its a Fiat Panda aswell

whatever but the basic factory ones are just cars for wealthy people who dont know anything about cars, footballers etc, that just buy it because its a ferrari so it must be good. Give me a black range rover any day over any of them, thats a car for wealthy people with taste.

Yeah, they are the ones who have taste. Although the RR Sport has ruinied the image a bit I think now. I have no idea why I went off one one about range rovers, I guess its because thats the only expensive new car I would have if money was no object. Infact thats a lie, and you will rape me for this, but I would kill for a Ford GT.

My £100k would get spent of 4 seperate cars, each one of them waaay cooler than any lambo, well, not cooler than this one.....

hypocrite much? i do agree that the countach was hella cool i had posters of it on my wall as a kid, but these cars were the ultimate penis extension surely? owned by yuppies who had no interest in the car and only had it as a status symbol and by all accounts they were terrible to drive, they weren't built to be racing car's, they were built as a status symbol, if footballers back then were on the kind of money they are today they would be driving that car.

but as you say it was a cool car, just like the modern lambo's, they are the countach for a new generation, you may not think that it's a cool car but i bet all the kids with posters of them on their walls dreaming of one day owning them will strongly disagree, just like if some one tried to tell me a countach wasn't a cool car when i was a kid...

lambos and ferraris are in a different league to most other cars. you can say 'blah blah blah would beat it on a 1/4 mile' etc, but in real life supercars tear pretty much everything a new arsehole [unless a stupid amount has been spent on that individual car]. thats why they can justify charging such a premium. people dont buy them 'because they must be good'. they buy them because they ARE good

That comparison is poor IMHO. The lambo thats £53k is 6 years old and has 40,000 miles on the clock. The nissan GT-R is £53k brand new!!! The cheapest Gallardo is £146,000 new I think (from searching google)

So if these people buy lambo's etc because of the performance (not because they want to pull girls or impress the neighbours) then how come the nissan GTR is SEVEN seconds quicker than the gallardo round the top gear track. A list of other cars that are faster are M3, evo FQ400, lotus exige S, etc etc. All of which are a third of the cost.

I agree when you say they arent all that uncommon though. There used to be a lime green gallardo in huddersfield. I did quite like the fact that it was always filthy, but the bloke who owned it used to drive through the centre of town at 11pm on a friday night, revving the tits off it all the time, just a total cock. But I'm posotive that 95% of people who buy them, buy them to be 'seen in', its obvious. And I dont suppose theres really anything wrong with that, its just not my cup of tea.
