Tax and Insurance,

Featured Replies

Okay, so looking into getting a new car, however it doesnt have tax, and is a good 3 hour drive away.

I was told, and i think it is correct in saying you cant buy tax unless the car is insured?

I get my years NCB on the 10th of March, and do not want to pay the extra seeing as i do not currently have the yrs NCB.

So, my idea.

If i was to purchase insurance starting on my renewal date (10th March) send to the seller as proof of insurance, would they then be able to tax the car before the 10th of March? Ready for me to pick up and drive home?

Cheers,

Shaun
