15" sub

Featured Replies

I recentlty got hold of a pair of 15" 200W RMS PA Bass bins. Used 1 to replace a driver in a bass guitar cab and have 1 left for sale.

These are not designed as car subs, but I popped one in my 'rocco in place of the 10" I usually run and it's immense!

Struck me that this could make a really nice addition to an old skool setup in a mk1 or 2. (Hide the amps and wires and run 6x9" 2 ways with no grilles in the shelf and retro door pods at the front?)

As above, it's a 200W rating, but these are continuous RMS PA watts - not car watts. ... (It'd be something like 500W peak)

The driver is a paper surround type, rather than the usual high-loss rubber you get on a car sub, so the sound's tighter (even in a ported cab) so you get the tight sound normally associated with a smaller driver, but with a big, stiff cone shifting a lot of air!

It felt like twice the volume of my 10" on the same amp setting.

The sub comes complete in a cabinet, but it's a PA type box with handles, top hat mount in the top etc. The box could be a useful start though, as the hardwear could be removed, and a 2nd layer of MDF/Chipboard could be glued to the outside before re-carpeting.

Outside dimensions of the box are: 19" W, 14" D, 20" H. The box is double ported and is fnished in black carpet.

2 prices for this:

1: If you want it as it stands (complete, ready to play, in the cabinet, with 1/4" jack input sockets)- £35 collected.

2: If you want just the 15" driver (and the internal dimensions/volume for a cab to ssave time!) £25 collected.

I don't want to muck about with postage etc... so COLLECTION ONLY from Coalville, NW Leics.
