o/s front wheel bearing

n/s rear wheel bearing

rust on the sill next to the tank means the fuel tank has to be dropped so it can be welded

tracking is miles out (no wonder i struggled like fuck to keep her on the road this morning)

fuel pump insecure

exhaust centre section is knackered

both front flexi hoses foul on the suspension

o/s cv gaiter shagged

rear o/s brake flexi hose corroded

o/s front to rear metal brake hose insecure

front o/s suspension lower ball joint split

front n/s side light out

but at least the klaxon is road legal lmao

so the garage will be busy for the next week or so memo to self never take the cheapo option it always costs more (i would tackle the majority of the work myself but rain and a mud filled garden arent the ideal place to work)

well after a few quids worth of work i only need some welding doing then its back on the road (although 403 quid isnt exactly cheap) and i think that will have to be next year as i had a rather horrible letter from the scumbags at the council this morning and now i wish them all a very very unmerry christmas and an even worse new year theiving gits

thought it would be a good idea to paint the bumpers half white half blue like the wheels and then realised paint works great in cold weather so i stopped to admire my work shit i know but its a wip so I'm aloud to screw up now and again

alrighty then after a long time (for me) off the road the loon is back now ill update whats been done in brief and if you want me to explain any bits in depth just ask i dont bite so here we go

1. wheels were sprayed in blue and white by myself just to add a cheap custom touch

2. the interior was changed to a budget one whilst i could fine a better interior (the search continues)

3. the brakes proved to be a little easy to overheat so these were swapped out for vw11 calipers with vented disks and new pads

4. the suspension whilst comfy and practical at standard height it wasnt cool to high but with help for a good friend we got it down 80mm on a philj kit

5. the front badge was sprayed blue to go with the car and its not over done like black

now there are ongoing projects on this car and there will be more pics and possibly even a few how to`s but in the mean time ill leave you with pics how she sits now when i take them later lols

Awesome! Look forward to seeing in again in the flesh sometime. I definitely have 'loon envy.

do you have anything in the back of the car dude? if not youll wanna get the rears raised up so its level, or you have proper rake, reverse rake isnt cool!

repping the mdmc stickers  but i think it makes it look untidy the way its laid up.

also cut off the bottom of the yellow sticker, so it ends just above the swage line instead of wrapping over it, will look tidier

did the welding cost 400 quid? how much did you have done?

you'll definatly want to clean up and re-underseal the rest of the rear beam mounts as they will end up going rotten in a couple of years, better to be preventative now than have the same agro in the future!

good to hear your driving it again anyway man

the welding was done by gaz who owns the green golf and it turned out to be the rear of the o/s/r sill that needed welding but we had to drop the tank good job really as it needed waxoyl on it. that yellow huge mdmc sticker is coming off tomorrow as its to big and yeah there is a bit in the boot got most my tools from weekend and a full jack, but it does need going up one or two notches on the rear as well.and yeah the whole underside will be resealed in a week or so just got one or two jobs under there first dont suppose you know anyone in the bodywork business do you saf as ill be needing it spraying soon and its got to be good

and thanks for the comments bud need all the help i can get with the next few phases

i had the same part welded up on the mk2 polo, i removed the tank myself and it cost me 40 quid to get welded =O hence why i was like whaaaaaaaaaaaa

ill have a word with some people regarding spraying, the guy who did charlie murphy should know someone
