oh no i understand that he was in the wrong but the cop was a right bitch, asking him if he thought he was above the law because of what he was driving and saying people like him shouldnt be allowed cars like that, think that means I'm justified in saying she was power crazy :-) and she was generally just completley full of attitude...

and your dad does realize that the speed limit doesn't suddenly get higher after a certain time?

every one that has a license knows what the speed limit is so if you get caught breaking it it's your own fault no one else's. not even a snotty copper's lol, if you try and stand up in court and argue that the old bill had an attitude with you for breaking the law (like some one suggested) the judge will probably chuck the book at you for taking the piss

i'm not whiter than white, i have broken the law but i also know if i get caught doing excessive speed's i'll get banned so i tend to stay well away from them, just common sense really, if you value your license you don't go silly with the right foot.

i hope your dad doesn't get banned, but i also hope he learns a valuable lesson from all this, whether you give a shit about the safety side of it or not if you go too far over the limit and you get caught it can very easily cost you your license.

no i just expected her to maybe be a bit more professional and keep her opinions to herself as most normal police do, think the attitude was unnecessary considering my dad was overly polite and fully complient, and if i have to say that my dad was FULLY AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF SPEEDING one more time i may be less polite myself...

...as mentioned i wasnt looking for peoples moral responses to the dangers of speed just some help so i can advise my dad as to what the results of a court case will be but thanks you for your response anyway

yeah, the second you break the law your human rights should go out the window, that's one of the reasons why this country is in the fucked up state it is these days. when i was a kid if a copper caught you fucking around he's give you a clip round the ear, we learnt very quickly to respect them lol, these day's the kids don't give a shit because the old bill can't do fuck all. their hands are tied by rules, red tape and having to act 'professionally'.

fully appreciate this fact however I'm pretty sure they're also not out there to dish out thier opinions bcos they have some power despite the fact they may have seen some horrific things, if someone gives them attitude first then fair enough, police are only human but my dad broke the law, admitted to this fact as soon as they came to the window, was very polite and complient (as mentioned) and didnt do anything to warrent her being a sarcy idiot

so if some one steal's your car stereo and the police catch them the police should treat them with respect because the thief has admitted they were wrong and didn't give them an attitude? may be they should just ask them nicely to accompany them down to the station rather than sticking them in cuffs and arresting them as well?
