About the car: I have owned it for the last 3 and a half years and its been a much loved reliable and well maintained car irrespective of cost. The car is a great run a round and I have enjoyed all 30 odd thousand miles I’ve done in it! The 1.6L engine puts out 125bhp, plenty for a car of this size ensuring its nippy enough if you need it!

Genuine reason for sale in that I have upgraded to something slightly bigger, and slightly faster and now I need the space on the driveway!

The car has covered 67,000 miles and has a full stamped service history to back it up. (Part VW, part local garage). I also have the V5 doc a full set of bills; MOT’s and receipts to boot stretching back through the cars life and from previous owners (two off).

The car has four almost new tyres all with good directional tread on them. The car has recently has a refurbished gearbox due to the differential failing. Unfortunately a common problem with VW boxes. The gearbox was supplied by and now has a two-year warranty or 24,000 miles through Cleckheaton (See website www.cleckheaton-gearbox-centre.co.uk). The car now runs the smoothest it ever has with a nice slick change; how it should be! I also took the opportunity to have the clutch done at the same time.

Externally there are a few stone chips and scratches here and there but otherwise the paintwork is in great condition for a nearly 10yr old car. The BBS split rim 15” alloys are in good condition and were refurbished by the previous owner just before I brought the car. Some of the laquor is starting to come away in places but hardly noticeable. The car has great Xenon headlights (with washers), which are crystal clear and provide an excellent driving light at night. It also has front fogs mounted into the hex front grill.

The interior is cloth racing “No. 1” specification, which is clean and un-stained with no rips. The car is fitted with a SONY MP3 head unit (as standard) and 10disc CD changer located in the boot.

The remaining spec is as standard on the GTI’s. Central locking with two keys (plus emergency key), electric windows, alarm and factory fitted immobiliser.

The car it a fine example of these GTI’s and it has not been subjected to the boy racer abuse which many of these cars have been! The car is HPI clear and I have the certificate from the survey I did when I brought the car.
