do dubbers flash lights or wave at each other?

Featured Replies

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

No.. It's Mikey totally shooting down this whole thread! hahaha

Always wave at aircooled or clearly 'scene' watercoloured dubs but never do any of it when I'm in the polo

When I had my ovlov 340, I tried waving at a guy who had been following me for a while in a 240 the same colour as mine. He looked at me as if i had just molested his kids lol.. apparently it's not the done thing on the volvo scene!

Don't think i have ever really flashed anyone, since i don't want them pulling out on me half the time

But i've noticed when in Land Rovers they all wave at each other. And campers and Pikey Mobiles.

I only communicate with other motorists when needed,i dont invite them to pull out etc as its not my place to do so and doing so can be dangerous. And my attention is better spent on other elements.

well some of us like to live the highly dangerous lifestyle of some one that flashes and waves at other drivers, i know this maybe way too much for some to understand, but we like to live life on the edge. we like to live each second as if it was our last and we love to laugh in the face of danger while flipping the finger in the face of death...

we also have more than a 5 second attention span so have no issues with flicking a stick behind the steering wheel when we spot another vw

But i didn't see any harm in lifting a finger (not the middle one) to some other classic mini drivers when i drove one,as i do as thanks for people stopping for me and letting me past when there are obstructions on their side.

But a modded newer shape Polo? I dont see the point. I dont really care unless its someone i know, and if its someone on here i probably wont know who you are anyway.

So a wave from me is unlikely to be about your car, unless there'r something falling off it. The last time i had a mutual wave due to the cars,it was when running along side an early 60's Morris Mini-Minor in my Polo. It was too cool to ignore.

Mr. Serious.....Strikes again!

Theres always 1 lol

I'm sorry but I keep reading Mikey's "speech" over and over again, and it just makes me laugh even more!

at the end of the day i only really beep/flash my mates. and flash good cars i shouldnt be trying to race lol

i know the subaru people like to flash each other.....

LOL @ Mikey

not been flashed in the polo, but all the time when iv been I'm my mates mk1 golf people give way and everything its great

i always give it a little flash of the lights or a little bit of a wave if i see a modded dub, dusnt reli matter what it is, gotta be friendly to the vdub comunity

i think this calls for a bring back the friendly dubber wave craze!

Just got a mental image of "the signal" from Team America.

ha!

Without meaning to continue sounding like a politician,i do have a point that should be considered amongst the laughter.

People die on Britains roads everyday, and a common cause is by confusing signalling.

A flash of the headlights through being polite does kill people quite regularly.

One example a few miles south of MK was when a lorry flashed an on-coming lorry of the same company to say hi. A motorist pulled out a side road, presumably thinking the lorry was flashing him to do so. Not that anyone will ever know,as the motorist died at the scene.

If you're gonna go around flashing your lights at other motorists, realise its illegal and kills people.

best when someone clearly isnt in to their dubs...

you flash the lights

they look confused and wonder whats wrong!

that or if your not in a dub n you forget what your driving... n go to flash n stop yourself cos why would a shit 6n or an bm flash a dope polo!!

good times!

any thing vw with round head lights gets a wave off me :)

just a lil nod will do..

i always wave, nod or flash. Only well modded VW's not chavvy

Its dying out. Vw scene isnt as friendly as it 1st was when i started modding.

I wave or give the thumbsup to any nice dub, if i have time to notice.

Gotta love the aircooled drivers though, the way some of them look at watercooled as if were below them

I even got a wave back from a guy in a mk2 golf gti 16v, I was in the metro.... :)

I flash the fogs at any reasonable attempts at modifying a car

i flash my fogs if the other car (any car) has there fogs on and it isnt foggy

Yeah, that too. I go into spazzo mode with fogs and main beam if they are like that!

Mikey with all due respect, i can't see how you have any right to lecture any body about road safety when you used to openly brag on public forums about what kind of high end car's you had raced and beat on public roads... or were all the race's done within the highway code?

I tend to flash, sound my horn and wave all at the same time.

I give the old thumbs up and usualy get one back.

its better now its getting warmer (windows open), you can shout at people instead :)
