i hope the day comes when i see a vdub coming towards me with someone with there arm out the window wanting to high five!!!!!

Since getting my white vento, I've had no end of people wave/honk/flash me. Love it :)

Must be around the Midlands area when my car was on the road pretty much every journey i came across someone who would flash me or give a nod ..

I can appreciate any Modified not just the older variety although that is what i drive .

Starting doing this today, people seem to really appreciate it 8-)

^^ Even i do that

i had some one in a mk1 cabby flash me the other day, first time in ages it caught me so off guard i kinda panicked and did some gay wave back. must of looked like a right idiot

AND you did a gay wave = double idiot :-o:lol::-p

The real matter at hand is, should we flash at scrubbers?

The potential gains are quite appealing til you have to go the gum clinic, discuss.

Well if the highway code says you can flash to alert other road users to your presence, then I'd say yes it's legal.

I see a dubber, I flash to alert him of my presence, he flashes back to confirm that he is also present.

Case closed, you'd think... but MikeyMK was waiting to pull out and mistook our flashes for a signal to go, he then laboured his engine within the speed limit, hitting the red line and narrowly avoiding me going into the back/side of him - moral of the story, heavy acceleration could be seen as dangerous driving, or it could have prevented the above hypothetical potential crash, and flashing could be badly interpreted, or people could use common sense and only pull out if it's safe to do so.

that has to be one of the best replies so far. Along with

i wangle my penis out the window frantically

no-one ever flashes / nods or anything round my way. the vw scene seems shit tbh but i like my polo and spending money on it

Always get the looks from the chavs in their shitboxes lol :p

I've flashed and waved at a few round my way only got one responce but then i am driving a near stock mk3 loon but thats soon to change

Hardly ever see modified vws in burnley, used to see the best lookin g60 raddo but not for a bit, theres a matt black E class thts covered in wheelwhore stickers but not driven past him

if a copper pulled me for flashing 'a fellow dubber' i imagine the conversation would go a little like this:

Copper: Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Sir, Do you know why i pulled you

Me: No

Copper: We've seen you flashing cars on the opposite side of the road

Me: So...

Copper: Do you realise that's illegal

Me: It Isn't, The highway code clearly states that you can flash your headlights at another vehicle to alert them of your presence. I was alerting the driver of the heavily modified VW of my presence, he then flashed back to confirm that, yes, he was also present at the time.

Copper: The Highway Code isn't the Law

Me: The Road Traffic Act states that the H/C should be followed, which I did, To the letter. Now, if you've nothing better to do than pull me for alerting another driver of my presence who flashed back to confirm that they are also present then i'll be on my way. BYE :) then just jump back in my car (if i'm not already) and do 1.

It'll probably never happen or if it does, i'll not happen that way!
