haha yeah it's slipped down a bit it's not meant to stick out at all - at the moment it's just held in with cable ties and the silicone hose isn't on yet it's just some dodgy old neoprene and some duct tape! Embarassing to be honest, it'd look better if I ripped it all out but I'm too lazy!

Yeah shame you missed the surrey dubs meet it was quite good, nice friendly bunch and some nice cars. Maybe you'll catch it next time, worth the drive to Byfleet.

On Monday I bought a big diesel rig for a daily so the polo will get fewer miles put on her and she wont need to be so practical. I'll be swapping the stereo over and at the moment any spare time I get will go into the daily so this might go a bit quiet.

Wow that is quite a compliment. Hopefully my new diesel rig will mean i can keep this puppy nice and fresh, I've just put it on classic insurance so I cant drive it more than 1500 miles a year. With a bit of luck I can get her to live up to that immense compliment

But, it always makes me wanna go more motorsport themed with mine every time i see this. Infact it just makes me want to buy a MK2 and start from scratch

One thing i don't like is the little air intake thingy up front.

It has perfect stance though, a purposeful stance, perfect wheel/tyre size combo. Not too much arch gap but not too little. Theres nothing OTT about it.

I'm not one for buying cars that are already modded, i hate the thought of owning someone elses car. But i reckon if this goes up for sale, I'd actually be very, very tempted.

Yeah, a couple I suppose.

I bought some CBR600 bike carbs for the old girl, was about to fit them and then decided to put an AFH in instead. As you do.

So there's an AFH on R1 carbs lying on the garage floor at the moment

I'm scrimping and saving to try and get all the bits I need to finish it off, just got a mortgage so it's been hard and has taken a while, but I reckon I'll have it in for the summer.

Recently picked up this little lot

Just need calipers (paid for), braided lines (paid for), oil breather (I broke it getting the lump out of the donor), lightened flywheel, rear axle bushes and poly engine mounts.

Recently (err January) the missus got me this for my birthday:

So it's been a little while without an update, but as per my last post, I finally got all the bits I needed together for the brakes.

Now with all the fluid (hopefully enough lol) and the calipers, all I needed were the hoses and pads.

So, out comes the car and up she goes.

The RAC badge has been removed since this pic - for the record.

And in true Blue Peter styleee, here's one I made earlier.

Wasn't that simple actually, using the old carriers meant I had to buy a few longer bolts and sleeves, but hey it's never that easy is it?

Right now I'm waiting to borrow a compressor to flush out the system, then she'll be all done.

Recently picked up the poly enigine mounts I'll need (pics soon) and a new oil breather for the AFH. More to come soon then - but in the meantime I'll leave you with a Polo Parade pic:
