Featured Replies

I had this for a year now and due to Uni and Work and Moving houses it's been a slow project and riddled with problems but she is getting their.

The Bad when I got her

Broken Speedo so when I was driving it home from London had to guess the speed as well as the internal light didn't work

Perspex Windows which kept hitting me in the head when driving

No interior the glass from the windows inside the car

Gear selection bad

Over Fuelling

and very very bad wiring including a starter button

List goes on

But now she is finally looking a little better all the above sorted

It been sitting in the garage since March because it refused to start on the key.

I thought i would see if it was worth saving and check for rust.

Nice TZR! Have you de restricted it? They go nearly as well as an RS 125 when they are!

Sorry, nothing to do with the saloon, but hey, two wheels are the way forward, you know? :)

  • Author

The TZR 125 was a short stop to get my full licence and get to work and back in a very short time. At the moment it going to go under a full restoration as the fuel tank was leaking and I would like to get to get it back to original colour Faraway blue.

At the moment it’s restricted no power valve but I got a kit to go on it.

How I got it.

Since you've cut out that panel where the m/c bolts too, you might look at fitting a servo from a mk3. You've done the hard bit already  it has been done before

  • Author

I will have a look at some build thread to see who has done it.

I really didn't mind driving without a servo, made my right leg stronger

I understand that, but it's cool to have. Think it was katpolo (?) who did the conversion. Was a red breadvan anyhow.

  • Author

I will check it out, but might not have any room to fit a servo because of the carbs i'm fitting

No real update

Due to not having any space I decided to have an extension built. (so much stuff when you strip a car)

IMG_20120913_182957_zps4b74b828.jpg

we also decided to build our own sand blast cabinet. (to help things move quicker)

and once my second shed is up the car we get underway again (too much stuff)

Head has had Pinto exhaust valve fitted

Carb been rebuilt

28 chokes

110 jets

160 Air correctors

7772.8 tubes

33 pump jets

Aux vent 3 (for higher RPM)

More Photo's to follow

Have you put the pinto valves in the inlets then? How much work was required to do this and how much space have you gained? Is there any space to open up the exhausts now? I'm looking to do a similar thing with mine. So many questions!

  • Author

I based it off this thread

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?...p;#entry1801171

and

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?...=302761&hl=

The pinto exhaust valves are inlets on the HK head. I get a photo tonight.

both inlets and exhuast have been three angle grinded. I did have a GT hydro head three angle grinded buy the same bloke and imrpoved the performance.

The bloke that did it said "their is room to widened the exhaust but it would be a little risky" plus the GT piston have valve pockets size 36 / 28 (but have to check) so going bigger would mean piston notching.

Edited by residentmelon

Looks like you're doing a lot of the same jobs as me, I will be watching this one.

  • Author

as promised on the left is original and pinto on the right
