Polo 1.3CL 1995 won't start

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Had a nasty intermitant electrical fault on my Polo. The initial intermitant problem was no LCD display and completely dead. If I wiggled the main relay/fuse board it would sometimes get the power back and then start OK.

So (after disconnecting the battery) I took the main fuse/relay board out of the car for inspection (looking for burn marks etc.). I discovered black carbon around the main thick red wire which comes from the Battery and connects to this main board - cleaned up this joint then put all the rear connectors (reds, blues, yellows etc.) back and all the relays and fuses back, then hung the whole thing back on its support bracket.

Now when I turn the ignition key I get an 'IN 02' code displayed, the engine turns over fine but it won't start. Can anyone help me with this please - as I don't want to pay a VAG dealership hundreds of pounds - if you know what I mean!!
