Nice :) I'm doing the same conversion (original injection). If you need to know which wires to strip off from the fusebox gimme a shout, I've taken out about 200 wires so far lol

yeah that was a really nice looking square, seeing that again is swaying me towards keeping it red. I forgot how nice a colour it is when its not faded.

I'm thinking about making some pikey tech coil overs for the front of this now, i've also got my eye on some 13's for it rather than the 15" azevs so i can get it on the deck 8-)

lookin good mate,

your car's the one giving me the urge for some sump scraping mate :unibrow:

spent today doing all the small little shit jobs, the car now starts on the key and the wiring is tidied up (just waiting for a relay so i can finish it off), and got the immobilizer working with my mk3 key aswel as a nice little touch. just need to bolt on one of the drive shafts and decides which alternator i'm going with and it's pretty much done engine wise. i've found the bonnet fouls the air filter on this conversion tho, time for a bonnet vent me thinks

to be honest i'd get rid of the standard airbox its so restrictive, get a bmc for it mate

ain't the bmc's quite a chunky filter though mate? beside's i'm thinking of having a play with the standard box so i can run it with not top on it and have a bonnet vent over the top of it feeding it a nice constant stream of freash air. my bonnets shafted any way so if i fuck it up i wouldn't of lost any thing, i'll just have to find a replacement bonnet a little sooner than planned.

just some thing simple like this one

Raise the bonnet at the back? All you need is a little bracket thing on the hinge.

Looks cool i think with a slightly raised bonnet. Will be doing it to mine when the bike carbs are on.

tbh i'm just looking for a reason to cut a big hole in the bonnet

haha, fair play!

:D love it! tbh I quite like small bonnet scoops when they're actually doing something..

btw I'm going with a CDA-style air filter, with a cold air feed, you can get cheap imitations on ebay init!!

If the standard air box is too tall the CDA will be worse I reckon.

Another option is to just run an air feed from the throttle housing and have the filter at the end of it instead.

Sounds like you've already got your heart set on a DIY bonnet vent though

well the engine conversion is now complete, just gotta knock up an exhaust and stick a few more bolts in one of the drive shafts.

i opted for the mk4 alternator in th end, just had to chop a bit off it lol

and these are the coilovers i'm gonna butcher :unibrow:

and i'll be turning this into the new back box for it

and this is video of it with my pikey tech exhaust to keep the neighbors happy :-p

That exhaust is the best side exit i have ever seen.

Love the bonnet scoop idea  you seem to have a thing for them dont you, you still got that one off the rocco?

That exhaust is a beast!:lol:

Do i spy mk4 clocks in there? got any pics of the dash?

no mate they are mk3 gt clocks and the dash just looks like any other mk3 dash. I can get you a photo of it any way if you have a dash fetish?

i scraped the rocco with the vent on it, this one should look more subtle and meaningful than that one if the image in my head is any thing to go by lol

nice polo mate looking good !!!!!!

cheers mate

been busy as fuck at work so not had a chance to do any thing to this, i'm picking up my new wheels tomorrow gonna see how how low i can get it on them, if it'll go low enough for it to be worth it i'm gonna stick my hydraulics on the back. i've started chopping up the old coilovers ready to pikey tech the front struts into coilovers and i can rob the rear coilovers from my scirocco if i don't bother with the hydro's

new wheels fitted, removed rear shocks to see how low i can have it on the coilovers

it's gonna take a lot of effort to get the front sitting like that good mind, but i'm up for a challenge lol. i've lifted the engine about an inch to get a little more clearance (pikey tech stylee), but even with front coilovers i think i'm gonna struggle to get it sitting right. might weld some mk1 golf arches on the front to take away a little of the arch gap and so the front wheels are a little tucked like the rears.

and new back box

Wheels are powertech BCW iirc.

Car looking sweet. Might need some more info on this loom buggery at some point ;)
