Nice :) I'm doing the same conversion (original injection). If you need to know which wires to strip off from the fusebox gimme a shout, I've taken out about 200 wires so far lol

wheels suck venoms rule!!! good work dudeee

i told you on face book mate, i know how much you want them but i won't sell you my venoms!

ain't the bmc's quite a chunky filter though mate? beside's i'm thinking of having a play with the standard box so i can run it with not top on it and have a bonnet vent over the top of it feeding it a nice constant stream of freash air. my bonnets shafted any way so if i fuck it up i wouldn't of lost any thing, i'll just have to find a replacement bonnet a little sooner than planned.

just some thing simple like this one

Thats the G40 that i had the doors and bootlid off from a chap in London. I nearly had the bonnet too but got outbid at the very last second :(

That exhaust is the best side exit i have ever seen.

I've heard of side exit but really

I'm gonna have to swing by one weekend mate. You can have the bumper if you want it? Only gonna bin it otherwise.

  • Author

yeah mate swing by when ever, if you drop me a pm in advance i'll send you my address, although if you leave it a few weeks i'm hoping it should be pretty much finished then so they'll be a little more to look at including the hydro's

the bumper would make a nice finishing touch mate cheer's, it'll bring a bit of nostalgia to the project :D

wheels look sweet on it mate, looks like its just going to tuck nicely on the back too :) I'm going to miss them but i doubt i would have got them on my integra lol.

I got that backbox on last night mate, sits lovely you cant see it at all lol proper sly. Looking forward to a trip in this when its done, gonna be a proper little ragger :-p

started making the exhaust yestarday, it's got a nice raspyness to it now, just hope it keeps that when it has a back box on it lol

got some new seats for the polo

01062010640.jpg

these rude boys make raddo seats feel like polo CL seats lol, very impressed 8-)

I've got pretty much identical Recaro's for mine just figuring out how to fit them to my subframes low enougth into the polo .

How were you plannin gon doing it as the runners are slightly wider than a polo's floorpan (channels for the vw runners) so you cant just bolt them through the floor and i want them sitting low . The Subframes i had on the Merc seats mean they sit quite high ..

i've not even looked into it tbh, i was just gonna get the angle grinder and welder out tomorrow and see what happens. even if i have to weld some box section to the chassis and bolt them to that as the runners are still on these seats. or chop up some polo seat runners so they sit lower and have some thing to bolt the seats on to.

if i get them in ok i'll let you know how i did it mate

When I fitted my Recaro's last week, I got some scrap bits of metal and tacked them onto the polo seat runners so they would stay in the same place. Then cut them off the seats and welded them onto some box section which was welded to the bases of the Recaro's. Can get them pretty low aswell then.

I imagine i will be doing the same tommorow aswell iff the weather is nice that is .

My Dads track car is filling up the garage with a stripped down engine .. Pfft :(

Ford RS seats are the only way to go. So much better than Volkswagen ever had to offer. Which is strange cause Recaro made both but the Ford stuff seems a lot better. More comfortable and more supportive. I've got Fiesta RS seats in the Lupo and they are godly.

fitted the recaro's today...

first welded a bar across the ford seat runners to hold them in the right position when i took them off the seat

welded the runners to the chassis

then fitted the seats

i've swung on them and they ain't going any where so i'm happy 8-)

i also picked up some mk1 golf hubs tonight and made a start trial fitting the hydraulics

thats low..!!!!!!! who made the hydraulics?

jeez guy, you dont fook about do you lol, nice to see you got the correct hub mate.

looking good!

Dude thats gonna sit sweet if you can get it anywhere near as low as that i read through kiz's thread nice one dude you got a lot of fab work to get it right?

  • Author

shit forgot that bit

these hydraulics were purchased from 'downlow hydraulics' (aka tony100), i believe he can make kits for any car as long as you give him detail's, his prices are very good and he's a top bloke that knows his shit

is that better tony old lad? 8-)

omg, this has the potential to be one of the best breadys ever, please dont give up on this one, make it into something really really special
