jeez guy, you dont fook about do you lol, nice to see you got the correct hub mate.

looking good!

yeah some lad off the scirocco register had them sat in his garden so gave me them for nothing, they even still have the ends of the drive shafts in them that i need, cheer's for all the help and advice mate you've been a massive help 8-)

Dooleyz, yeah there's still a fair bit of work to do to get this front suspension set up so it works on the polo, the main things gonna be welding the steering arms on to the rams without warping them, but my mums chaps a shit hot welder so we'll see how we get on.

higgo, i don't know about one of the best bready's ever lol, it's just a 100 pound shitter with lots of free/cheap bit's chucked on it (bar the hydro's of cause), but if it turns out how i want it it should be a lot of fun which is what matters :-D

cheer's for the comments peeps 8-)

Nice :) I'm doing the same conversion (original injection). If you need to know which wires to strip off from the fusebox gimme a shout, I've taken out about 200 wires so far lol

I think i need to ratach my Ford subframes and copy your design far less complicated than mine

Hydro's How much were they mate there exactly ehat i need for mine !

You dont piss about do you , I really only got my seats to a stage were i figured out what to do then realised i diddn thave any metal to finnish my subframes off so went and did a bit more smoothing on my mate's Mk1's bay :D

Hmm mk1 golf hubs... thats a bloody good idea! :unibrow:

dude its guna look sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!

i can't take any credit for that, that was all ki'zs (youngprodigys) brain child, he put in all the trail and error and work so people like me can just copy straight off him and get it right first time, bit props to him for helping me out with it 8-)

stealth, i just took a seat out and chucked the recaro in as a trail fit and noticed that all 4 of the bit's that bolt it to the floor in the ford go to some where pretty solid in the polo. then just thought fuck it i'll do it this way

the hydro's cost 1100, which if you compare that to air ride kits your looking right at the bottom of the market for that price. which would mean a very slow kit and having to wait 20 mins for the comp to fill the tank again. besides you don't get the gangster noise with air ride, although you do have to find out your old copy of 2001

tony, have you still got the video of this kit in action?

want me to post it??

Reading this is a good read lol... Sorry what is the mk1 hubs for?

yeah get it up mate, let every one seen your handy work in action 8-)

i had the hydraulics made up for my mk1 scirocco so it's just a way of using them on the polo. although it's also a cleaver way of using decent mk1 golf coilovers on a polo rather than having to spend shit loads on polo ones, it also lets you adjust the camber on the front of the car which you can't do on the standard polo set up. so if you were performance oriantated it would also be a nice little mod to do.

AM ON IT! :D

cheers

been on it again but it's been slow progress with this heat

cut the steering arm off the old struts

mated the golf outer cv joint to the polo drive shaft, converted it to vw2 calipers and grooved disks on the one side. this is it all together and showing the movement the ram has

pretty sure the engine will be sat on the floor when it's at it's lowest 8-)

Thats the sex!!!

I'm loving that chap. Just how i'd want a bready to look.

SO whens the respray and Gt engine coming

  • Author

i can't be arsed to do another engine conversion on this

respray should be coming some but it'll only be a blow over in red mate

mate - I'm dead chuffed for you:-)

cheers for the props my way aswell - it was a big risk for me to do the first ones and all my trial and error made yours a doddle!

mine will go just as low as your but wont straight away coz of my wheels being a bit bigger (oh and sticking out of the car hahahaha)

big credit on this mate.....GET IN THERE GUY!

uk's first breddy on hydraulics... 8-)

he aint there yet lol! still a long way to go

cheer's mate, and yes you have made this very easy for me and i can't thank you enough for that :D

i've had to chop out the same bit of chassis that you had to so yeah the only thing getting mine lower than your's is the wheels, but then at least you'll be able to drive yours when it's all the way down lol

Wow absolutly superb work !

I'm not a bready fan but damn that looks ridiculously good sat like that 8-)

Strong work , Fair play to you sir .

hopefully not too long a way

one ram is ready to be welded now, i should have the other one at the same stage tomorrow and have them welded over the weekend, the rear's are a direct fit so it's pretty much just a case of getting the hoses shortened to suit and plug it all in. hopefully have it working next weekend although things seem to be going too smooth at the min, some things bound to fuck up some where along the line

How low can you go???

Carefull you dont get beached on that bit of grass behind it

Seriously though, Wicked.

How low can you go???

it looks like the engine will be sitting on the floor before the hydro's bottom out

if it was a coupe i could get the arse end right down too but with it having these gay arches and my choice of wheels it's not that easy although it goes low enough for me :-D

haha as if, that looks the nuts!

That is the coolest bready I've ever seen I think. The wheels just suit the drop so well.
