carpets

As i am re-trimming my door cards, seats , headliner, and boot false floor, i thought it would be an idea to change the carpet to brown or beige to match. but after trying newton and finding they dont do a carpet kit. I've come up with an idea of getting some automotive carpet and doing it myself.

but i wasnt sure if its easy enough to work with, so i was wondering if any body on here, has tried to do there own carpets in their car before, or knows of any build threads that might help me, as this would be the first time I've tried to do carpets.
