The polo equivalent of child abuse, (The Polo Everyone hated....)

Featured Replies

Is there any wonder why a lot of people hate this forum.

Most of the polo's look the same on here and if they dont its wrong.

If everyone in life copied each other then life would be very boring.

Polo3 seems to be a much better forum imo.

This place is becoming full of idiots

Maybe because he likes it that way? Maybe he liked the last and thought, hmm that would be good on a rado

he thought wrong, clearly.

finally, someone who sees sence lol

I like to be different by copying the car I last built....

like all the slammed cars on here with stickerbombed wings and shit right? lol

It looks shit in your opinion.

Someone else's may differ.

Everyone's narrow minded aha, & toby I'm fine mate, just seems to full of people dishing out rules on pointless topics, when they thenselves are the ones copying shit

you change your mind more than a bird you sunshine. in every thread about lowering 'URGH WOTS D POINT' maybe thats their opinion/choice? come off your high horse and form proper arguments before having sly digs for no reason.

tbh atleast hes actually going for it, id much rather check this out rather than oh i cleaned my car today bla bla

haha no I say that I don't see the point, not that there is no point.

People take a lot of stuff I say the wrong way, just seems a new crowd on here who think they own the place and are making it worse for others, only the last few weeks it has changed really.

But hey, I like what he's done with his polo & rado, I get bored of samey 6n's. Simple

i dunno if you're talking about me? i don't know why you're being so indirect, just say names if you have a problem, its not that difficult. Also, when you've only been using the forum for 2 months longer, and you have twice the posts... ok.

i am blunt on here... but i don't really give a fuck. as for "own the place" its an internet forum, surely you cannot be serious ahahajsdsdsfdgf, samey 6ns? like clean 6ns? on popular euro wheels? oh... like yours? urgh. if you're gonna change your tune everyday, at least stick to common principle.

Hehehe I love a reaction :)

Aha :p thanks mate I'll be able to sleep tonight now! ;)

Ah yes, another car we're not allowed to dislike because it's so different.

At E38 last year there was a white Mk2 up near the stage, with a Mk5 Golf GTI engine and gearbox, and a full dashboard and interior conversion. Everything inside worked, including the air conditioning and the electric driving aids (ABS, ESP, that sort of stuff) and it had been finished to such a high standard that it could've been there from the factory.

I've never seen that before. And most people who I've spoken to missed it because it was so neatly done.

Fair play to Ratta, he builds his own stuff, but it's all about the shock factor. Huge wide wheels, arches made out of pig iron, and whatever random shit is nearby. Great for getting attention at shows, but it never looks finished properly.

Whatever, that's what show cars are made for. I just wish this wasn't being touted as the 'anti scene' when in fact it's a car built to get attention in exactly the same way as whatever's just rolled out of Gregg Howell's workshop. It's just doing it a different way, and with a lot more "fuck you, scene sheep" attitude attached to it.

In my opinion, a rat look car is a bit like a massive cock.

It's fine to have one.

It's fine to be proud of it.

But please stop trying to force it down my throat.

Opinions are bound to differ on a forum, especially when you bring together a collection of people who are all passionate about a topic but share different views of what is right/wrong or good/bad.

The car from my view looks strange, i would never do that to a car. HOWEVER, i can fully appreciate the imagination and workmanship thats gone in to it. You wont see anything like this at a show twice. For that reason i take an interest and have a look at whats progressed with the build from time to time.

What also good to know, is that despite all of the very upfront negative comments about the car; the owner is actually still very helpful to members as far as i remember from the PM conversations I've had with him a while back.

Hes obviously not worried about the negative views of the car and has certainly made it like this for a laugh and because he wanted to.

I think that point sums it up really, so many people 'rat' cars and other garish weird modifications in attempt to be 'different'. As a forum i think we all notice that they're just goons pretending to be different when really all they want is a bit of attention or 'forum fame'. As a result we slate them and their car from the off.

People like Ratta and the ever famous Rolo literally do just want to create cars which are different or very extreme. They are also good at seeing the bigger picture and clever at incorporating twists in the styling of the car. Yes they love the attention it gets them, but thats just a bonus. I can guarantee you wouldnt catch them in a super clean one lady owner OEM/OEM+ G40 with 10,000 miles on the clock. It simply, just not their thing. (This is of course my stereotypical view and not Ratta's or Rolo's; I could be wrong. It's just what I've noticed over the years of being on here).

Let the build progress, if you dont like it, dont comment. Theres hundreds of car project threads on here and edition that you can take a look at instead.

:)

But surely people set up a build thread for people's opinions?

I think it's funny how much everyone bitches about it, IT'S NOT YOUR CAR DON'T CRY.

Is it all about gathering people opinions though? Think properly again.... I personally think you've missed the point.

If a thread was all about finding out what people thought, surely it would start with. I'm about to build a car and I'm doing this, this, lowering it this much. Is this ok?

I see it simply as displaying something your proud of. Rather than using the cars build thread as a dick extension. If it is about opinions, then why hasn't the owner listened to the negative ones and reverted the car back to standard. Think about how many people blog things and never ask for opinions, they just want to display something that they're interested in or proud of, so other people can enjoy it too.

this thread is purely for entertainment and slating surely, infact i know it is. it isn't even the car builders thread, the OP posts all this ratta chaps endeavors on here because it always gets a reaction.

Aha I like it, it's something different and technically a lot of custom work, jealous of people who have the space and equipment for this kinda stuff!
