the reason i think it's dangerous is the massive spacers on it. There are jagged edges and the workmanship looks poor! This car's kinda like modern art, you get the people who pretend to get it, the sheep who like it because it's cool to like it, the people who like it because it's different and therefore must be cool. End of the day i'd rather see something that's conventionally good looking and well put together rather than something that looks like it's been thrown together by a child :)

You'll love this site then..

Lol.

Lol.

I have seen all kinds of abomonations that should never have been created on that site........if you think this polo is bad workmanship, its just the tip of the iceberg with reference to that site

i just don't get the whole rat look thing, it's all a bit emo for me! It's not my fault your mother doesn't love you and building a silly car as a cry for attention doesn't impress me either. Lol. The 'rat look' cars on that site are the emo's of the car scene. For me, a true rat would be faded paint, few knocks here and there, but true potential can be seen plus it should be perfect under the bonnet!

that's border-line confusion between a 'rat and a 'sleeper'.

But i do get your point, personally i don't get why they do it, but fair play haha, it is a bit of banter.

I preffered it when it came to a meet in Bristol in November 2008... Belonged to Ratta? Looks cool now though, bit extreme for my liking but each to their own!

Which one dude? Ratta still owns both of the cars!

haha!

I think it was the green one with a VR6 badge? I have a pic or two somewhere...

I've been following this thread on swdubs, was actually gonna post a link on here cos i didn't think anyone had seen it.

I'm not gonna slate at all anyway, i think it's a good project, he's done some mad stuff to that car!

And it's not even finished yet so i'll wait til then to make my final judgement on it!

can you edit the title pplease

to

THE POLO EVERYONE DOES STILL HATE

possibly the worst thing I've seen in my life...

the rocco yes all day that car was good...this is just to far.

yeya!

Kudos to you dude for creating something that gets people talking about it. Lets see how many posts the next thread that says, "check out my slammed standard 6n" gets. Hold on I know what they will be in the exact order they will be posted....

1. that's sweet

2. wow, how low is that?

3. i've seen this 'round Birmingham, it's awesome.

End of thread.

Wind your necks in.

got a lot of people talking it seems..

You'll see this car about i'm sure..

I don't like this nor the rocco, seems a waste of car to me, maybe I'm just boring?

To me good rat is about patina, i.e. what you see on Aircooled stuff, or just the odd accessory. Not overloading something with tat completely. Not saying I was completely devoid of this in the past (neon yellow pinstriping anyone?) but certainly not my cup of tea nowadays.

I much prefer a standard minter to shite like this. Not being mean, but it is just a load of shite tacked onto a car at the end of the day. And those arches are fail. Nice job on the wheel refurb but it seems when people go for big arches 95% of the time the angles or sizes just look wrong.

I liked Panda's comparison to modern art..

There was a time when everyone was painting landscapes and realism.. yeah they all looked similar but they were pleasing to the eye and the artist put a lot of time and effort into the paintings.

Then some modern artists pissed on a pillow and sold it for silly money because it was 'modern art'. Their argument was that it was different, interesting, and not the same boring old landscape painting.

This car, is that piss-soaked pillow.

IMO of course.

i agree in every respect of this argument of opinions

yes its very controversial and people either like it or not everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to it

on the other hand the defenition of rat is that chassis and internals are all mint and in good order but the bodywork is tatty hence rat look

prime example the fast and furious tokyo drift the big american thing at the beginning is rat look the outside looks rough but underneath its an animal

that is not an opinion either its fact this new rat look phase is just i cant be arsed looking after my car so ill turn it into a dog and call it rat look

and just so you know i like both the rocco because its different and the polo because its utterly mad

Most of you guys on here are faggots.

Such douchebags.

<3 Ratta.

Hmm.

I'm all up for being different, pushing the boundaries and so on. But there's an art to it.

That Scirocco, while it's not done to my taste, is a good concept which has been executed well. It hangs together as a car, which is why it works. Different is great, when it's done well.

For me, the Polo just looks a mess. Lots of stuff going on and none of it really ties together. I get it, the whole alternative "fuck you scene" thing, but I'm not convinced this hits the mark. It's like those swirly bodykits people used to fit to Mk3 Escorts, which never suited the car. Yes, it's different, but that doesn't make it cool.

I'm not being a hater, I just think it's trying too hard.

And the aggressive responses against people disliking the car defeat the point, surely?

If you build a controversial car, some people will hate it. And forums are full of people who speak their minds. If that bothers you, don't build a controversial car.

Not my cup of Earl Grey in all honesty, but as the saying goes - "your ride, your way". :) As long as it's built to a decent, safe standard underneath I haven't really got an issue with it.

Most of you guys on here are faggots.

:lol: LMFAO :lol::lol:
