Maybe so, but that just proves that the 'mk4/6n slammed on small dished wheels' "look" is whats popular at this frame in time. Back when i started coming on here (was porka.net then) you couldnt look at 10 picture threads without 60/70% of them containing a mk3 coupe lowered 60/80mm on ats classics. Its just a case of whats 'in' at certain stages

i think if people have nothing nice to say they should shut up the car isnt the look id go for but i think its still cool , the wheels are lush and the car is diffrent to the norm and people should respect that i think wiv a diffrent colour scheme it would look better but it dont matter what i or any 1 else thinks as long as he likes it thats all that matters good too see people experementin theres so many cars that look so similar n always good to see summat that makes u smile .... keep it up dude

Except for these points..

1. This is a forum, it's a place to voice opinions on various things, mainly cars, be them good or bad.

2. Read the name of the thread, the OP is expecting negative comments from the get-go.

3. If he doesn't care what people think, then the options are..

A) Don't put it on a forum and ask for opinions etc..

B) Don't complain when you get bad comments on a car clearly made to get attention (good or bad).

This is all pointless though because the OP isn't even the owner of the car so even trying to argue about it is like pissing into the wind.

the reason i think it's dangerous is the massive spacers on it. There are jagged edges and the workmanship looks poor! This car's kinda like modern art, you get the people who pretend to get it, the sheep who like it because it's cool to like it, the people who like it because it's different and therefore must be cool. End of the day i'd rather see something that's conventionally good looking and well put together rather than something that looks like it's been thrown together by a child :)

Also, just because i'm admin over here, doesn't mean that I'm not entitled to an opinion... my personal opinion, not the clubs, mine! The lad obviously does care what people think, or else he wouldn't take photographs, go to shows, or post on an enthusiasts website he'd keep it to himself.

In my opinion, the whole car's one big scream for attention, whereas my style of car is much more subtle, something that someone can walk past and not realise the true extent of the work, untill they see the car 2 or 3 times, picking up on more subtle details that the owner's thought out properly and done for a good reason.

As for your comment about "cool surfer dudes in their rat rod campers" I don't think they're cool either, I think it's tragic that a car with such potential has been left in the hands of someone who doesn't know what to do with it, to restore it to it's former glory.

i never said they were the clubs opinions that you were viewing, but they way you view your own opinions in such a negative way, so your telling me a beautifully looked after camper van, with 30/40 layers of paint that had been sanded down to five an effect where all the layers are open, yet has been laquered, to protect it, and i think there was more rust on your car, than his camper, and besides having a porsche engine inside it, means your point about the potential of the car is not wrong, but out of context, because it has reached a potential that you may not agree with, but has been higtened to a pint of it being unique.
