i do but there is currently 2 Cr125's taking up most of the available space ;)

the car is sat on thick wooden blocks on each corner so it is not on the cold wet ground :)

Because people go turbo as the low end grunt from chargers tear the boxes to pieces lol.

That's assuming that all super chargers deliver the power in the same way, which they don't. Different SC with different pulley sizes will deliver power in different ways

well it has been some time!

and unfortunately i haven't yet done anything :(

i have been far too busy with my new toy and spending farrrrr to much time on driftworks...

imported from japan to southern ireland a few years ago and then brought to england and never used for the last 2 years, so i bought her for a bargain price and 4 weeks later shes UK registered and shredding the roads!

already bought a few nice shiny things for her ;)

here is the last couple of weeks in pictures

Golf looks very tidy mate. Hope you get that loon in the garage soon though. Leaving mine outside last winter ruined the fresh paint!

new exhaust, shotgun styleeee :D well calling it an exhaust would imply it had silencers... this is more of a pipe all the way from the turbo to the back ;) also been fannying around destroying tyres, fitting a hydro/harness/solid subframe mounts/new clutch/lightened flywheel/japspeed engine mounts the list goes on and on.........

but this does mean that frig all has happened with the poor polo, so over one year on and nothing has been touched :( but i has given me chance to think lots before jumping in and buying an engine, i have decided against the g40 and i recon i want to go with the 1.6 afh hybrid jobbie and charge that instead, more work i know but should be good for silly power, plus i already know everything i need to know about the 16v polo engines.

but this is all still talk as i need to get buying stuff!

Follow Guys build for the 1.6 boost route especially if you want to do it on the cheap

 • Author

i wouldn't say i was looking to do it on the cheap but will certainly have a look anyway!

By on the cheap i mean using modified oem parts thats are stronger than standard 1.6 parts rather than busting out for custom forged jobbies, as its not cheap.

Sort of the same I've done as I've modified forged 1.8t rods to fit my 1.4 afh

but Guy is using modified G60 rods for the 1.6 version rods were less than £40 as opposed to £400-500 for 1.6 forged ones

poor polo is still sat here in a sorry looking state, really miss driving her at the moment :(

desperately need somewhere indoors to work on it through the winter!

 • Author

a new found enthusiasm for the polo means i have moved it to a different neighbour's drive where i have better access to work on it, so it will be up in the air on axel stands having the suspension stripped off to clean up all the arches etc to be under sealed once any rust has been treated/removed :)
